@zbitter Looks like a Vo2 of ~86 with a vvo2max pace of 3:53/mile is 10:00:00 potential based on my best predictions. combinations have to be right: ive looked at alot of the available physiological data and Bekele seems to be the closest, my projections map him to 10:00:00 precisely.
Today was supposed to be a big training day for me with a structured run: 10 mins easy warm-up followed by 11 sets of 4 mins at a 5:55/mile pace, with 4 mins recovery at 6:50/mile. But, as life loves to remind us, plans don't always go as expected.
Woke up with a headache and a stuffy nose, feeling under the weather. Still, I laced up my running shoes, because every step forward counts, right? Managed to get through:
- 10 minutes of easy jogging to warm up.
- Only 2 out of the planned 11 intervals at my target pace before calling it a day.
Here's what today taught me:
- Listen to Your Body: Sometimes, pushing through isn't the answer. It's about knowing when to scale back.
- Adaptability: Plans change, and that's okay. Adapting is part of the journey.
- Every Effort Matters: Even if it's not what I planned, it's still progress.
For those of you battling your own challenges today, whether it's sickness, weather, or just life - how do you adapt your workouts? Any tips for running through minor ailments, or should we always opt for rest?

My last workout before race will be tomorrow. It’ll be short threshold/marathon pace work. Then I’ll aim for my first target: @canalcorridor100
