Yes, you can buy fractional shares today.
But itβs still just a broker IOU which has counterparty risk, slow settlement, and zero self custody with plenty of additional fees. You donβt actually own anything.
But if you tokenise that same asset on chain and you get full ownership/ self custody, instant settlement, near zero fees and 24/7 global liquidity.
Also, you seem smart to understand that it isnβt about turning $30 into life changing money quickly but democratising access to global capital markets in the same way a Wall Street giant can.
@phizzio@MikeKTrades@GVOCollective@leadlagreport They wouldn't have to purchase all the tokens, the price can scale based on the liquidity needs. So the less available tokens there are the more the price has to appreciate in value to handle the liquidity needs the market is demanding.
1. XRPL isnβt as centralised as you claim in fact I would say its more decentralised than BTC. Validators are independent, and XRP wasnβt issued by Ripple it was pre-mined in 2012 by XRPL founders and gifted to Ripple Labs.
2. Ripple runs less than 10% of validators, and 55B XRP is in escrow, releasing 1B monthly for transparency and re locking the vast majority of it. PoW, however is inefficient Bitcoin consumes 150 TWh/year vs. XRPLβs 0.007 TWh, making it unsustainable for global use.
3. PoW isnβt suited for global payments: Bitcoinβs 7 TPS and 10-min block times canβt handle high-volume transactions. Fees spike to $5-$10, and 70% of hashrate is in 3 mining pools, centralising control. XRPL does 1,500 TPS with fees less than a penny.
4. ROI on XRP will be vastly greater than BTC with its only main driving force being greater fools theory.
5. Who is Satoshi?
@ScamDetective5 Ripple is permissioned because a bank can only transact if it joins Ripplenet. The XRPL is a permissionless blockchain. Like surely you understand the nuance of this post π
@osf_rekt Itβs not about market cap, itβs about liquidity. The sooner the broader crypto world understands this the sooner they will be able to understand the price appreciation of $XRP.
@ScamDetective5 I understand in this scenario of Bitstamp not involving the XRPL. I am simply highlighting a broader scenario involving the reasoning of supporting Ethereum early on rather than XRPL. π
