Skin color is almost always the fastest and most accurate identifier. Is it racist to accurately identify someone by their color? The human brain takes shortcuts to conserve its own energy, and the brain is usually correct until the human "thinks" about it. And in that regard, your own brain probably knew the easiest way to describe the perpetrator well before you decided to draft the contradictory post to your brain's own natural processing.
