We now know which boys are going to the mainland, they are: Ōtepoti, Motupōhue, Bunker and Māhutonga. They're all juvenile males from the 2019 breeding season, so for so many reasons, we won't be getting chicks on the mainland any time soon. #kakapo #conservation #newzealand

A quick trip to Whenua Hou yesterday to (among other things) check on some #kakapo which were displaying slightly unusual activity behaviour on our remote monitoring system. Fortunately we were able to give them a clean bill of health. #conservation #parrots
