We were horrified to see this on social media today. We don't know if there's anything @docgovtnz can do, but if they're not already aware of this, they should be https://t.co/KYztjPG36e @1NewsNZ@NZStuff
Where are the coders who follow us? @Wikipedia seem to have allowed a large error to occur in deleting the full list of #kakapo. It would seem prudent to resolve this error and restore the page and all its important information. A resource that needs protecting too it seems..
More sad news, Madeline and Ōtepoti have also passed away while in care. A reminder of how fragile the species is and how your support is appreciated https://t.co/wy1V1v42Rx #kakapo
Have you been wondering about how those mainland Kākāpō are going? Here's their story in the latest podcast episode from RNZ https://t.co/EwaZJCBV4G #Kakapo
A classic case of someone who knows the cost of everything & the value of nothing - a conservation minister who thinks it may be cost effective to let #NZ endangered species become extinct. On that basis, we could lose #kakapo, #kiwi & countless other species unique to NZ.
I'm a bit dumbstruck. Interconnector won gold in the #nzpodcastawards 'Great Find' category. I'm not RNZ, NZME, Mediaworks, Stuff etc, I don't have a crew or studios, this is just.. me. Thanks to everyone who trusts me to shove a mic in their face, I hope I did you justice.
Tonight there are #kakapo in the forest of the North Island of Aotearoa for the first time in over a century. We released four into Maungatautari Sanctuary Mountain today. #conservation#returnofthekakapo
We now know which boys are going to the mainland, they are: Ōtepoti, Motupōhue, Bunker and Māhutonga. They're all juvenile males from the 2019 breeding season, so for so many reasons, we won't be getting chicks on the mainland any time soon. #kakapo#conservation#newzealand
A memorable day for Kākāpō and all New Zealanders! But which birds will be starting their new lives on the big smoke? We may have to ask our good friend @takapodigs https://t.co/Y01Xn59ECt #kakapo#parrot#conservation
A quick trip to Whenua Hou yesterday to (among other things) check on some #kakapo which were displaying slightly unusual activity behaviour on our remote monitoring system. Fortunately we were able to give them a clean bill of health. #conservation#parrots
