I'll miss a few accounts from here,
but I'm moving on to bluer skies for now (for obvious reasons of what this place has become) .
Good luck, and hope to see some of you there.
It really is amazing how the entire country is screaming about one candidate's need to be forcefully replaced, and it's NOT the one convicted of 34 felonies and standing trial for many more, including an attempt to fix an election and theft of classified documents.
We are nuts.
To put this plainly, at least some corporate leaders seem to be supporting Trump precisely because he's offering them a corrupt oligarchy in which they get a juicy cut of the spoils.
Still, the bigger story here is that there is no stampede to Trump. 5/5

Growing up in the Chicago area in the 80s and 90s, it didn’t get any bigger than Walter Payton, Michael Jordan, and Ryne Sandberg. Those guys were just on a different tier than any other local athlete.
Alex Rodriguez asked a question. Reggie Jackson answered it.
(Shouts to the producer and rest of the desk for staying out of Reggie’s way and just letting him talk. I doubt they expected this answer. But it’s a great few minutes of television.)
A child passing out and them not doing a damn thing about it or stopping to ensure their safety perfectly captures the whole "protect the children" movement.
Two Bidens: Some of us are watching long, complete speeches by the president. Others just watching short, out of context clips on social media. Two audiences are seeing two very different reflections.
This response to someone asking not to be on the phone in a theater is so insane to me. I said it elsewhere but the first century of moviegoing was spent with people simply not being on call for two hours of the day. Cell phones have really destroyed our brains
No sarcasm I still think that some of the debate questions should be like “what is the difference between Medicare and Medicaid?” and “which is the Article 2 Branch of government” and “What is the threshold for overriding a veto?” and stuff like that.
Screaming USA at a guy who sided with the Saudis (or at least their money) over a dude who chose to move to the US and stick w/a USA-based company is definitely … a choice.
why has GOP embraced authoritarianism?
--losing 7 of last 8 presidential popular votes makes democracy seem threatening
--Christian right admires strongman crackdown on cultural change they can't stop
--Trump's in Putin's pocket and has pulled GOP along https://t.co/XopbwXGyhJ
