Sky News reports that Israeli soldiers detained an ambulance carrying a critically ill, six-months-pregnant Palestinian woman for more than 30 minutes at the Awarta checkpoint, forcing the engine—and onboard medical equipment—to be turned off.

During the delay, she delivered a stillborn baby inside the ambulance.

Doctors later saved her life after emergency surgery, but the baby could not be saved.

A New York Times visual investigation says the U.S. likely dropped a 2,000-pound Mark-84 bomb on a family home in Qeshm City, Iran, killing three civilians—a husband, wife, and their 2-year-old son—while two other children survived.

Based on videos, satellite imagery, crater size, and bomb fragments, weapons experts concluded the strike was consistent with a U.S. JDAM-guided Mark-84 bomb. The Times found no evidence of a nearby military target.

U.S. Central Command said it was reviewing reports of civilian casualties but maintained that "the U.S. military never targets civilians." The intended target of the strike remains unknown.

Experts cited by the Times questioned the use of such a large bomb in a densely populated area, saying international humanitarian law requires minimizing civilian harm.

Italy cutting Spain off from Schengen is absolutely absurd.

Italy has spent years at the center of the EU’s migration crisis, receiving hundreds of thousands of migrants across the Mediterranean, yet it was never subjected to this kind of political punishment.

Now Spain, after recognizing Palestine and increasingly clashing with Morocco, is suddenly being isolated. The timing raises obvious questions about whether this decision is really about border controls, or whether broader political considerations are at play.

Rules in the EU often seem to be applied selectively. What is tolerated for one member state suddenly becomes unacceptable for another when the political winds change.

Over the last five years, Italy has taken in roughly double the illegal migrants Spain has: about 400,000+ arrivals since 2021 (including a record 157,700 in 2023 alone) versus Spain's roughly 210,000 over the same period, including its own 2024 record of 64,000. Italy alone in 2023 took in more illegal migrants than Spain has seen in any two years combined.
