"Disconnect" is officially live!
Writing original songs has always been a struggle for me, particularly lyrics. I am still kinda in denial of how this came together.
It be heavy and a lil screamy, but if you like it please share. #music#artist#newmusic

Twitch Mobile:
"We want to make our app better"
Me: *mmkay*
"We'd like for you to take a survey"
*mmkay*
"We're going to ask you a bazillion questions one after another, with no perceivable end in sight, instead of doing piecemeal <1min inquiries"
*This is the reasons why your app is hated by general census. EVERYTHING on the Twitch Mobile app is long-winded and SLOW. Start there, maybe?*
Its been awhile since I updated on my music releases... I last dropped 2 covers back to back... one of Three Days Grace's "Home", and one of Bury Your Dead's "House of Straw". I do a lot of metal things, but hate nicheing down into a particular subgenre. Links below!
@hyrulefasshion Ive been saying this for YEARS! There's a reason why Dominoes and Papa John's are adding a bunch of other shit to the menu... because they're not that great at making pizza. *shrug*
So, been pondering back and forth on this... I owe a Dragonforce cover, and would like to do Through the Fire and Flames, but I am so damn out of practice I would have to fabricate a handful of the solo frequences... so I think imma do 2 Dragonforce covers.
The first one though... i'm torn between My Spirit Will Go On and Soldiers of The Wasteland.
Choices...
I have so many half-finished music projects in the archive.. but I finally feel like I'm at a point where the 'process' doesn't really impede me anymore.
For the longest time... playing the role of the musician AND the engineer, coupled with inexperience... leads to many instances of tone-chasing.
Option paralysis.
When you are unsure how you want to sound, and struggle to find and tune the sounds you hear in your head, it leads to a frustration that makes being creative feel like work.
But at this point, I've built or found enough tools and templates that make the sounds I want access to, and now I can spend more of my focus in composition...
...And it was only through adopting the thought process of 'failing efficiently'. I'd put a solid effort into getting as CLOSE as I could to the sounds I wanted, and when I hit a wall, that's where I backed away, and moved on to another aspect of the recording.
I've got a guitar tone that I LOVE, I've got bass and drum plugins that not only do the job, but do it so well, they take away the need to obsess over the intricacies of the tones. Yeah, i'm awful at mixing drums, so I use a VST that's pretty hands-off (my undying LOVE for Odeholm Drums...), and i'm slowly getting better at building vocal chains that achieve what I want... whether that be melodic cleans, or filthy screams.
It took almost 30 years to learn this, but identifying and breaking the barriers... the things that hinder your ability to create... that is the fastest path to the goal.
Find people who can give you valuable criticism, that don't have an imperative to tell you what you want to hear, show them gratitude when they contribute to those 'eureka' moments. Do the thing. It doesnt have to be perfect, but it will get better with the more time you spend.
... and don't be afraid to fail. Success is learning to fail efficiently. One of the most influential musicians that inspired me, Devin Townsend, said those words in a random interview video I stumbled across... and as more time passes, the more sense it makes.
Been awhile y'all, but some thing has happened.
...We hit 500 on porple app. Even after reducing my availability to stream... y'all are wild. Thank you so much.
On that note, I made a promise if we hit that milestone before the end of they year... so we're covering some Dragonforce. ^^
I'm also currently working on my next original.... and this time, we'll be leaning HEAVY into deathcore for this release.
Lastly, I changed my name on Twitch xD I have too many identities, but Lokh 🔒 is the default, so on Twitch, i'm Lokh_Ness, for the meme. XD
Chat has also effectively written the lore of my character being a shapeshifter... I'm a dragon (on PrisonRealmLive with my buddy Saba), Oreo, human(?), and I'm rapidly acquiring more forms as time goes on... My music is still under the same name, and so will virtually all my other channels, but I kinda need to corral my identities to a focal point.
Here's to, hopefully, another 500. Thanks y'all.
