Sakina Hussain is growing wild in the garden

I mostly write strange short stories where things don’t quite make sense, occasionally make sensible hard science fiction stories. @anikas_h is alter ego.

On that note, consider what you want your last story to be about. Perhaps you ought to write it now, just in case. https://t.co/PbfbSyVJX4

@Alex_Micati True, there's always something more you can write, edit...I'm looking forward to reading the whole thing and making some big, sweeping changes.

And yeah, that about sums things up! Got out today for the first time in days, enjoyed the sun, but otherwise yep, chilling at home...

Hi twitter friends. Been a while. Visiting for a sec to say:

November is over, and so is NaNoWriMo, and I'm walking away with a win and 66,024 words! More than I have ever written (of one project) in my life...I'm just super grateful. Still lots to write, but gonna take this win

[Sakina Hussain is growing wild in the garden @TheKidCanWrite]

@Alex_Micati Thanks bro! Defs one of the biggest things I've ever done—especially having a finished (in a very unfinished way) novel...

By the way, how's it going? How is quarantine? Feels like it'll never end, maybe because they keep extending it, but maybe it's just because it's winter...

@ReadRyanNow @ReadSpearsNow @terryjbenton @LitAgentKelly I'm a bit late to the party, but I'm definitely green with yellow and cobalt highlights!

after ottawa police officer daniel montsion, who murdered abdirahman abdi, was criminally charged in 2017, thousands of police across canada bought wristbands with his badge number and the words "united we stand, divided we fall". they keep telling us exactly who they are

[Pariah Carey @DesmondCole]

.@benspurr spotted a toronto cop wearing a creepy patchon his uniform. last year a "paramedic" was wearing a similar patch that reads "don't run, you'll only die tired". please don't act surprised y'all this is what policing is

Always cops. We just narrowly escaped. All we are trying to do is survive. We need water to live. CDC says let them alone. Honolulu Sergeant literally said to the CDC, "My officers will ticket and arrest homeless anyway." Harassment is over the top and personal!~LWB photo

Everyone's aware that corals are probably going to go extinct in <100 years, and sea level rise of at least 10 feet is already locked, right? I sometimes worry those of us who pay a lot of attention to this have stopped talking about the details, for understandable reasons

[Sakina Hussain is growing wild in the garden @TheKidCanWrite]

All those kids activity books that make you follow the wiggly lines have prepared me for this moment. And possibly my physics degree

[Sakina Hussain is growing wild in the garden @TheKidCanWrite]

I have been sitting in front of my computer for two hours and I have read nine lines :|

[Sakina Hussain is growing wild in the garden @TheKidCanWrite]

Update: I have read many more lines. It occurs to me that I have not read a circuit diagram in a long time, yet it's far, far easier than reading those few lines of text

[Sakina Hussain is growing wild in the garden @TheKidCanWrite]

I think it's pretty a-door-able

A $200 winter jacket. I haven't worn it in years, instead using my $12 thrift store one or before that, the combination of a $5 one with a $10 thermal vest...

What is the most expensive article of clothing you’ve ever purchased? Do you ever wear it?

[Sakina Hussain is growing wild in the garden @TheKidCanWrite]

@Brianna_daSilva Yeah, eternal hell doesn't seem right unless hell itself is eternal, but individuals only stay for a finite duration.

I like ideas that posit the afterlife it as a reflection of your own being. Whatever you do here on earth is turned back on you. You live the reality you made

[Alexia💓 @seauxalexia]

So this is a real story, and they’re saying since this unarmed man caused a traffic disturbance, he’s responsible for the 2 women getting shot...... I can’t even make it make sense.

Anyways, my brother got a stick shift, and now he (along with the rest of us) has the fun task of learning to drive it. It reminds me a bit of of learning to play the theremin...

So...manual transmission cars?

[Sakina Hussain is growing wild in the garden @TheKidCanWrite]

@ReneeGendron Not a lot of reading happens in this world, but the story of the Martian revolution is a favourite all around. Later, heretical texts about terraformer-colonist conflicts on distant worlds take a close second.

a strike you probably haven't heard about: a group of trash collectors in New Orleans – all of whom are black men – are demanding safe working conditions and hazard pay. they've been fired and replaced with prison labor, their union says
