The best part was having an opportunity to work with my colleague @AACareerCounsel. I think we make a fantastic team, compliment each other well, and care deeply about the community we serve.
The hardest part of the week still weighs on me heavily. The Jail North facility also houses youthful offenders. Seeing a kid in a jumpsuit is about the worst thing I've seen in my life. I wish we could abolish jails for kids.
They learned computer basics, email, internet basics, media literacy, @google docs drive sheets and slides. The skills they learned will allow them to take part in our modern society, economy, and democracy.
Today, in partnership with @MeckSheriff@CharlotteWorks @digCLT @TheKnightSchool, we graduated our first digital and media literacy class of female residents in Jail North. These women will receive an earned device upon release purchased from our partners at @E2DInc.
