By maximising the amount of material we use from a single log, we’re able to reduce waste, which has the knock-on effect of keeping costs lower (by not having to pass on the wastage costs) as well as needing to process less fresh timber, which is better for the #environment
#didyouknow that not every slab we process can be cut into boards?
Depending on the length and shape of the log, and the required length of a board for an order, we get these slabs as offcuts
It would be entirely possible to make these cuts with other methods such as a dado blade, or even hand tools, but as you can imagine a machine like this can save hours across a build.
Oh! I completely forgot to mention! 🤦♂️
🪚Our blog is now live! In our latest, we explore how we use traditional joinery, without neglecting modern technology. Take a look! 🪚 https://t.co/y9xwKNUkdP

Just came across this study published back in April, showing undisputable evidence on how @FSC_IC positively impacts local ecosystems. Well worth a read!

Sustainable forestry is, and has always been at the heart of what we do.
Simply, even if we put the environmental perspective aside, as a business we wouldn't be able to function in the long-term without sustainable forestry practices.
