@AmericanAir we’re trying to get any sort of customer service for flight 1981, scheduled to leave DFW at 10:27AM and now is scheduled for 5PM!! No help from gate or 800#. Boarded and deplaned twice! Both for mechanical issues! Are we getting a new plane?

@AmericanAir_56 @_Ameicanair__ @_Ameicanair__ now the 10:27AM flight has been delayed until 6:45PM, passengers have boarded for the THIRD time and have been sitting attached to the jet way for an hour! Is this plane as mechanically deficient as the first? How is this acceptable

@_Ameicanair__ So they called me, and by they, I mean the booking department. As an added bonus, the flight has been delayed until 6 PM (10:27AM originally) and still no word if it is a new plane or still the mechanically deficient plane.

@AmericanAir Just informed that the replacement part was also broken, as in mechanically defective! WTH?!? Still on hold…, now an hour.

@AmericanAir And now 5:30 departure! The line for the desk has hardly moved for OVER an hour now and I’ve been on hold for >40 minutes with the customer service 800#. 7 hour delay should be enough time to issue food voucher at the very least.

I’ve been thinking about July 4th for the last few weeks and about freedom. I frequently get asked why I’m here by nearly everyone I meet. My answer always comes in two parts. For one, I’m Lithuanian and this answer is usually immediately accepted because of the soviet occupation of Lithuania. Second, I’m American, and as Americans, I feel it is our duty to help defend the freedom of others. As we’ve seen, freedom can be only one generation away from extinction. Even if it is not our own freedom in question, we have to help preserve it because it affects us all in one way or the other.

The thing is, these two answers blend together because America gave my family a home and freedom when russia violently took theirs. I will love America forever for this and so many reasons. While Independence Day looks a little different for me this year and the fire works we get tend to be on the spicier side, I am grateful to be part of the effort to defend freedom and democracy in Ukraine.

Happy 4th to all my fellow Americans. May we continue to fight the good fight and always defend the freedom and rights of others while enjoying our own 🇺🇸
