Can someone guess what this is?
Plastic wrap?
Steel cannister?
No! Snapped at SEMICON 2026, this is a huge silicon ingot measuring almost a meter long! Thin Si wafers as thin as 0.6mm are sliced from such huge ingots to make semiconductor chips.

Process monitoring during #WAAM. Monitoring is essential for gaining real-time information that can be used to control and improve the build quality. Here, a welding camera measures the bead geometry with computer vision. Pretty cool right?

@DavidMoodie_@kadinsswitch 1.8 RA as cast? That would be a tremendous achievement. Milling such complex parts could be a real challenge and Inconel (particularly 718) is notoriously hard. Electrochemical polishing can provide sub-micron finish without hassle.
More #WAAM action. Printed a V block with SS316 wire. See the state of the base plate even with ample interpass cooling time.
Slicing was done with Cura and later translated to Fanuc code. Is there a good open-source slicing tool for robotic WAAM?

There's no driver or a steering wheel or a pedal. More space for passengers and less costly to operate. This is just the first of many more to come. Damn they're ticking all boxes with this one. Who would've thought Tesla would come after poor cab drivers🫡

You pick a subject that you're passionate at and you won't have to work a day. Because it won't pay you well.
Hope it's time for the hardware bros🤞
My first big print on the FDM printer! The finish was poor though, but the overall shape is intact. Printed with PLA on an old Flashforge printer, this Eiffel tower took just above 2 hours to print. Any suggestions??
