T3: I think creating stronger systems includes educating stakeholders who may not be as close to the "challenges" of disability inclusion on a daily basis. Changing narratives through systematic information sharing like this #twitterchat by #rehabforallsa & #LefikaFoundation
CT: Rehabilitation services are an important part of inclusive education, and these services need to grow sustainably and innovatively. This will help all people with disabilities reach their full potential. #RehabForAllSA
T5: Here are some great free online training programmes on disability support for parents, teachers , therapists and others #RehabforAllSA https://t.co/Vv8YPGetYQ
@wheresalecia @CJWilliams001@reniercoetzee Continued professional development should not just be getting points to show you are relevant but practical implementation of new approaches and developments in the context of #Education, #Inclusion, #pedagogy
@RaeesaVerachia@RehabforAllSA Agree! How are we not yet doing this for differently abled learners? Expecting them to thrive and flourish when even basic needs and infrastructure or resources are still barriers to success as basic as seating...
@reniercoetzee @_FaceSA The cost of disability and the care economy with catch 22 of having to go work to support the extra needs of learners or children with disabilities vs caring for them and who is best able to care for them #LefikaFoundation#RehabforAllSA
@Yumna_Razak@RehabforAllSA Love this. Research needs to be actioned and evidence based practices implemented. Also is the research even in our own data collection being used for informed decision making or is it just used to count stats and make funders happy? #RehabforAllSA#LefikaFoundation
@RehabforAllSA Love this insight. The child or learner is first and foremost in a family and how ever that family might look it is important to include them in planning the way forward which makes sense for the family as a unit.
@sam_signsofhope@RehabforAllSA Yes love the use of open source and in developing countries it is important to consider how barriers to inclusion could be from a digital or technological point as well like just basic access to tech/devices/data/wifi/resources &infrastructure to support tech use
@RehabforAllSA Using technology can be daunting but often it is even low tech devices or changes to help support learning which is not the latest and greatest in technology esp for a developing country. Contextualized tech use &implementation is important.
Looking forward to hearing your insights...for me it involves taking action how ever small it may seem as often we just talk the talk of change but do very little of it...#RehabForAllSA
T2: We need to increase our view by looking wider at the greater system influencing people with disabilities; LSEN; CSPID; and other education stakeholders. #SystemsThinking Engaging all stakeholders who can contribute to implementation of varied strategies #rehabforallsa
Love this aspect for T2 from @FormDConsulting I completely agree with radical collaboration for systemic change to existing systems supporting #InclusiveEducation#LefikaFoundation as a #SocialEnterprise collaborates across sectors: public; private; civil society; social entrep.
T2: More public-private partnerships are needed within existing educational models, including partnerships with non profits and private entities creating innovative and cost-effective solutions for people with disabilities. #RehabForAllSA
