@LReneeB8 My goal is to do some more querying! After a round of feedback I reworked my query & trimmed the novel by ~5% and I'm finally ready to send it out again.
@_Knight_writer I just leave it til the second draft. I don't usually let beta readers read it until after the second draft so there's no need to worry about continuity.
My (not very cool) writing space! I love my WFH desk (directly to the left of the pic), but after 8 hours a day there all I want is to flop on my giant beanbag
@NishadMukherjee Thank you! ❤️ I know it will probably be a long path, but I've decided I love writing too much to give up. For every book that dies in the trenches, I'll just write another!
@LReneeB8@MCTaylor_author Using a campaign for worldbuilding is so smart! My WIP is actually based on a duet campaign my husband ran for me... I still had to do a ton of worldbuilding though because it was originally set in the Forgotten Realms 😅
@LexiMcnicholas If it helps, 2 of the last 3 fantasy books I randomly picked up at B&N had a prominent sapphic romance (that I wasn't specifically looking for). They probably weren't quite romantasy though.
I got a query rejection today that was actually personalized! I thought that only happened for fulls these days. Really grateful for the agent's feedback—I was starting to doubt my query letter worked at all
@struutinsky I read my books all the way through as an ebook before starting a new draft. Seeing it all together like that, even with changes I know I need to make, is one of the best writer feelings ever.
@moniza_hossain Yep, as a software engineer and a writer this perfectly captures what I think about AI "creativity." It's a cool piece of technology with both good and bad uses, but its output is not inherently meaningful the way a human's would be.
@masterpgrated I found my productivity actually increased when I started taking breaks instead of pushing myself to write when I really didn't feel it. Sometimes the story just needs more time to percolate!
Got some pointed but accurate feedback on my query letter for Mixing Magic and was discouraged enough I didn't touch it for a week. Happy to say I revised it again last night, and it is SO much better!
Stardust x Pan's Labyrinth
Silena fell from the sky to the dark forest, where the wolf-boy saved her. Now she dreams of a home she doesn’t remember, trying to find a way back. But there’s a monster lurking in the forest, seeking to devour her light

"It crouched on the tongues of the yellow-eyed coyotes gathered atop a boulder, their plaintive cries a warning. Nameless and faceless it pricked at Meadow's skin. Nature always knew first."
Native American reimagined Alice in Wonderland.

@dpkauthor For me, I'm just dedicating this month mostly to querying, then next month I'll be back to writing then next WIP, with maybe 1 day/week for querying. I'm not very good at switching between the two
AMARI & THE NIGHT BROTHERS x #MG THE MAGICIANS
Lillian believes the cure to her big brother's grief is hidden at his old Arts school. She wasn't expecting it to be Mægick. But not recognizing her own grief has consequences. How far will she go to banish the pain?
