You didn’t experience the full thrill of that Bafana win because you didn’t allow yourself to dream. You put a cap on your imagination, you allowed your pragmatism to limit your happiness.
Allow yourself to dream. Dreaming is free after all.
South Africa didn’t start their World Cup campaign in the smoothest fashion (off field issues playing a significant part, something Ronwell addressed openly in the press). but when they decided to play football? genuinely one of the most dangerous and exciting African sides in this tournament. Hugo Broos interviewed after the South Korea game spoke beautifully about the togetherness and cohesion built over five years of dedicated work and you could see every single ounce of that on the pitch. responding from a defeat against Mexico, taking a point against Czechia and then beating South Korea to book their spot in the Round of 32 is no small feat whatsoever. massive congratulations.
One of the biggest online retailers in the scene is boycotting GTA VI. Massive respect for standing up against anti-customer, anti-preservation nonsense!
Just remembered Messi scored 0 goals in the 2010 World Cup despite playing all 5 games, got eliminated in the quarter finals and FIFA still gave him the Ballon D’or same year.
He’s been their princess ever since bro, Princess Messi.
THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE SAYING, "IT'S JUST UZBEKISTAN." TELL THAT TO SPAIN. THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT SAID RONALDO WAS THE PROBLEM. HE JUST PROVED HE'S THE ANSWER AT 41 AND BECAME THE ONLY PLAYER TO SCORE AT SIX WORLD CUPS. ETERNAL.
41 years old Ronaldo went goal less in one World Cup game and every one is going bat sh*t crazy
Messi went goal less in the entire World Cup 2010 in his prime and ended up winning a Ballon d'Or 😭😭
Get him in.
Hell, even send them 250M.
Sell Vinicius for whatever possible amount before he leaves on a free, say 120M to the prem. Get rid of Camavinga for 50M. 25M from Muñoz sale to LFC.
That’s a total of 195M which could go toward Olisé’s signing.
You lose a LW (Vini) and you get a RW (Olisé). Only difference is that RW has much better chemistry with Mbappé.
Then, can deploy Mbappé at LW and Endrick at 9.
THIS IS THE MOVE @realmadrid
The South African football conversation is fascinating, because - like anywhere - there’s so much context required before you’re able to understand the full picture…
One of SA’s biggest strengths on a domestic level is a big contributor to their struggles on the world stage. The PSL is lucrative and is at a good level, so there’s no need to leave.
At Mamelodi Sundowns you can conquer the continent, and earn incredibly well in doing so. At Orlando Pirates you can win trophies and play in front of tens of thousands of people.
But there are levels to this game, and when you’re not at the highest level every week then you’ll feel it when you’re up against players that are.
Benni, Lucas, Schillo, Shoes, Fish, Bartlett and so many more effectively had to leave. They became better players - and #Bafana became a better team - because of it.
This isn’t about disrespect for the PSL, because it’s an excellent product with the really good players, but for SA to grow on a global scale, we need more talent in the big leagues.
