@annonymous24601@ChrisGloninger Yeah? Well quote David in the thread above where he mentions tides being > sea level rise (or where you specified your use of "he" meant David). I'm looking and don't see it. Chris disputed David's photos made any point, because "the tide alone shifts the water ~5x more, daily".
@JP__75 Predictions are becoming more accurate. Why did they adjust their predictions? BECAUSE ACTION WAS TAKEN WHICH HAD AN IMPACT. The previous worst case scenarios no longer apply. Do some REAL research.

@Clarsonimus Climate denialism is based on two things:
The denialist cannot understand the science, therefore no-one could understand the science.
Although climate scientists spend their working lives studying the factors contributing to climate change, it is due to something they missed.
@BrockRiddickIFB You would know they've been scientifically proven and documented, if you could research as well as you know how to copy badly written memes. An easy one: research how ANCIENT GREEKS estimated the circumference of the earth and repeat their experiment (easier with our technology).
@djtimm@ClimateRetorts@icarus62@robinmonotti Nice talking points, David. Which climate denialist blog did you copy those from? There is more than one study that looks at the scientific consensus for climate change. MOST climate scientists agree that the earth is warming because of human activity.

@annonymous24601@ChrisGloninger It is your comprehension that is a little lacking. David was either refuting the biggest driver of sea level being heat/thermal expansion, or the fact of sea level rise altogether. He never mentioned tides.
And no-one mentioned genders, clown. Why are you so obsessed?
@ClimateRetorts@djtimm@icarus62@robinmonotti NASA are not the only climate researchers. Indeed, climate scientists are found in countries other than the USA. The WORLDWIDE consensus is that human activities are the primary driver of contemporary climate change. You may not like it, but it's true.

@Konrad_Chapman@andytheviking@DrunkenMighty@ChrisGloninger Global scale problems require more than individual action, but government and industrial action is only going to happen with public pressure. Corporations like FF industry have too many short-term incentives (e.g. profit) to maintain the status quo. People must demand action.

@Konrad_Chapman@andytheviking@DrunkenMighty@ChrisGloninger No it does not. No climate change sceptic has had their climate predictions come true, or has been able to develop a climate model that supports their assumptions. And when the "consensus" theory has been found to be incorrect, it has been adjusted to fit reality. That's science.
@Henthor70 So rather than try to reduce or repair the damage we do to the ecosystems we directly and indirectly rely on, you would rather we stick our head in the sand and continue causing the slow death of the planet? Isn't it MORE reassuring to know that you are TRYING to do something?
@LexWaters7@ChrisGloninger Oh great climate researcher, could you provide your evidence for the variable that IS causing raised surface temperatures? I mean, I would have thought expert scientists that spend their working lives researching this topic would have found out the cause, but you sound cleverer.
@rustyynail888@ChrisGloninger That's not what @ChrisGloninger is saying. What he is saying, however, is that a series of photos of a location, taken at unknown times of day or year, do not provide an indication of sea level rise. Proper scientific method would ensure other variables were accounted for.

@JimSteeleSkepti@ChrisGloninger No need to throw around the insults, Jim. You're a skeptic, despite the weight of evidence going against you.

@Konrad_Chapman@andytheviking@DrunkenMighty@ChrisGloninger Because what they have said has already been disputed and refuted before. They have not raised new doubts, they continually just rehash old denialist talking points. Their predictions have been incorrect and their opinions are not borne out by the evidence.
@Konrad_Chapman@andytheviking@DrunkenMighty@ChrisGloninger Really? Diversion? Questioning the scientists who are spreading doubt about AGW, such as Willie Soon and Ian Plimer, being paid millions by the fossil fuel industry is a TACTIC? That conflict of interest has no bearing on the weight of their opinions about the science for you?
@Konrad_Chapman@andytheviking@DrunkenMighty@ChrisGloninger So you think by sorting your plastics and replacing incandescents with LEDs, the world will be saved? That the people should ignore the impacts of the fossil fuel industry (and others such as plastics/logging/mining industries), while we "sort our own backyard first"? Apologist.
@Konrad_Chapman@andytheviking@DrunkenMighty@ChrisGloninger So, these scientists who deny AGW exists, or deny AGW is significant, or deny the predicted impact of AGW: are these scientists experts in climatology or a related field, do they have the expertise to be better able to understand the science? Does the evidence support them?
