I have a friend in Iraq who told me literally yesterday that the Dollar is one of the most popular investments in the country because it goes up in value vs their worthless currency over time.

People treat it like gold, and more are piling into it because they're worried the Iraqi government will eventually devalue the Dinar.

They've exhausted virtually all goodwill at this point. No one wants to form a political coalition with them, and they're only just now beginning to realize how much they've pigeonholed themselves.

TLDR: Neocons have to start acting like Black Democrats if they want to exert any influence on any party going forward. The days of them being able to operate like political parasites who use a party for their own gain and give nothing in return are rapidly coming to an end.

In a two party system, one party must necessarily take the opposing side of another party’s political issue or that issue is no longer “political” by definition.

This applies to everything, taxes, education, immigration, crime, healthcare, etc.

This is why Democrats can’t let go of transgenderism. The ideology itself would cease to exist the moment Dems stopped agitating for it. “Lilith” and “Juniper” would stop thinking of themselves as oppressed minorities who are naturally going to be members of the liberal coalition and they’d instead adopt a different political identity, or perhaps withdraw from political life altogether.

And that new identity could be something that doesn’t make them automatic progressives.

This is catastrophic both for the transgender activists and the Democrats themselves, for different reasons. The activists because it threatens their political friend group’s very existence as a group, and the party because it converts guaranteed 100% Dem voters into something else that they can’t quantify. And whatever that something else is, it’s a net loss for the party at scale.

Without Republican opposition and Democratic support, the trans movement itself would dissolve back into the collective consciousness of the pre-political public, and its various individual members would either remain there or reemerge as actors who are part of different political groups that are by no means guaranteed to be monopolized by Democrats.

The same thing is true of all political movements, including Neoconservatism.

These people are terrified, because while they understand that in a two party system one party might be naturally opposed to them, if both parties are, then they will eventually cease to exist as a political friend group.

They’d much rather prefer a scenario where they dominate both parties, but failing that, they know they will have to monopolize one party in order to get what they want.

And with Democrats turning so sharply against Israel since 2023, it seemed naturally that Republicans would be the vehicle for Neocons to continue to exert influence.

The events of the last 24-48 hours have thrown a wrench in those plans. Trump, and certainly Vance, are now essentially threatening to depoliticize the very issue that gives these people a reason to exist as a distinct faction.

It’s like an ideology waking up one day and realizing there’s a very good chance that neither party wants to associate with it any longer. And if that happens, the ideology itself dies precisely because it’s no longer political.

Now, I don’t expect that to happen, at least fully. Neocons are not going to go the way of Free Silver, the Dixiecrats, or the Federalists. There will likely always be a pro-interventionist faction in American politics as long as America herself remains a superpower.

But what can happen is that Neocons discover there’s an immense price to be paid for a movement that lacks reciprocal support for whichever party it laches on to.

The reason the trans movement survives politically, despite itself being an 80-20 issue that repulses an enormous majority of the American people, is that it is insanely loyal to the Democratic Party. Democrats can’t afford to lose their support anymore than troons can afford to not Vote Blue No Matter Who. That loyalty is why it survives within the DNC, despite arguably playing a decisive role in costing Democrats the 2024 election.

But Neocons have demonstrated no such partisan loyalty to anyone but themselves. Half of them tried to become Democrats after 2016, and after backstabbing Trump again in 2021 and 2024, they have worn out their welcome within what appears to be a growing majority of the GOP.

Their only winning move at this point is to pick a party, marry themselves to it, and be as undyingly loyal to that party on every single issue without question. But that requires a level of strategic clarity and humility that I’m not sure many of these people currently have.

These criticisms are all made in nothing but the most honest of good faith intentions.

Like tens of millions of Americans, I have English blood in my veins and can trace several of my ancestors back to England. My mother’s maiden name was “Hyde.” I am pulling for all of you.

I genuinely wish to see you reclaim your nation and free it from an ideology that has sought to destroy both our countries.

People like this deserve to be treated like enemies.

Neocons are the enemy. These people act like their ideology deserves first priority all the time, and that every other issue is secondary to their own, which is so important that it isn’t even treated as an issue to begin with.

It’s treated as a moral imperative that should be automatically granted by everyone without any accompanying concessions or promises of future support for any other issue by the Neocons themselves.

Normally, political coalitions require reciprocity. You have your preferred issue and your their people have theirs. You negotiate with them to support your issue in exchange for supporting theirs. But Neocons tend to view political movements as a means to an end. They operate in a world where they never owe anyone anything else and everyone who has the “privilege” to work with them constantly owes them everything.

But political alliances only work when reciprocity run both ways. If one faction consistently demands unconditional support for its priorities while refusing to support anyone else’s, they’re going to eventually find out that no one wants to work with them any longer.

The lesson here is simple. You cannot ally with Neocons. Ever. They do not understand or care about other people or their issues. They are bad actors who only care about permanent regime change wars abroad and will backstab you the moment they see you wavering in your unconditional support for their pet issue.

With Neocons, you lose. Better to tell these people to go fuck themselves right from the start and make it clear that you do not need or want their support.

We’ve seen how these people treat their allies. It’s better to be their enemy.

I told you these people are not team players. They will literally vote for Democrats and sacrifice everything else in this country if doing so guarantees they can get another Neocon-friendly administration in the future.

Rewarding this sort of behavior is counter-productive. You should not reward people who do not care about you or your concerns.
