India is strengthening the Chicken’s Neck (Siliguri Corridor). It is the only overland link connecting the rest of India to the Northeastern region.

- The Centre has approved the widening of a 31-km section of NH-327 near the Siliguri Corridor.

- New military positions are being developed around the wider Chicken’s Neck region to strengthen India’s security posture.

- A fourth railway line is being planned to increase the movement capacity of trains through this strategic route.

But when will the Govt of India conduct massive deportation drives in the Chicken’s Neck region?

In times of conflict or crisis, illegal Bangladeshi settlements in the Chicken’s Neck will support Bangladesh, not India.

As the Indian private sector has grown DRDO (and PSUs) should have naturally been scaling the breadth of their programs and becoming more and more niche
