Weekly show (2020-24) | Two former OU Athletics employees talking all things OU | 🎙️: @TylerBurton7 & @AdamJacquez

@boomsoon91 Wait til you see Ryan Fodje

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

Brent Venables has released the availability report for this week.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@Sooner0913 @VenablesVisor And everyone thought MHJ was the missing piece in 2024, but look how that turned out.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

New standard: Dont’t be bad every single play! Just some of them!

[Parker Thune @ParkerThune]

Ben Arbuckle says the #Sooners staff understood Ryan Fodje's injury to be one that couldn't be made worse by playing through it.

"It's not like it was bad every single play, but when some of those things showed up where we had to get him out of the game, we made that decision."

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

The fans already have to tell Mateer when a receiver is open. Do we need to tell Brent when his LT is UNABLE TO WALK?

Maybe the fans should get paid $10M a year.

[Brody Lusk @BrodyLusk247]

Brent Venables on Ryan Fodje playing through injury:

“He’s got to tell because they’re not X-raying things. … I don’t do the evaluation. Our doctors do. … And he got out there, and he wasn’t functioning very well. … At some point there, we got him out, after a few plays.”

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@dbmp51 No. Whitt was never supposed to be second string.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@Cooterjoe0422 Bob Chesney is at the top of our list. Could talk us into a number of others though.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

Is now a bad time to let you know that Brent Venables ($51.6M buyout) is 8-10 in road games vs P4 competition? 44% win percentage.

Sooners head to Starkville Saturday to face Jeff Lebby, who OU fans wanted to run out of town.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@leoisthename33 So far he’s proven to be incapable of finding one.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@BJooonnes From “we’re close” to nowhere close.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@BoomSoon111 It could also be that Brent is an OC killer.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@thaguybrandon Have actually thought Penn St is a better comparison. Near good recruiting ground, large fan base, poor in NIL, afterthought amongst other brands in their own conference. Plus Penn State is going through a very unpopular stadium renovation.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@OU_Football Buried on the SEC Network for the rest of the season. A channel for programs far below where Oklahoma should be.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@LURCH____ Is BV in charge of the defense or the whole team?

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

Is this a fair evaluation of the BV years?

2022: no grade, transition year
2023: below expectations
2024: failure
2025: acceptable
2026: failure

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@Thatsjusttrey22 We'd still be bad. As awful as QB play has been, it's not top of the list of issues.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

John Mateer has more turnovers (9) than 42 FBS teams.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@850sooner The reason we haven't seen Whitt is that the coaching staff absolutely miscalculated how soon Bowe Bentley would be ready. Whitt was never supposed to be the 2nd stringer.

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@Timbo8411 @jdheatherly24 Talking about his year one success

[The Main Line @TheMainLinePod]

@UT_Mangler So he can beat y’all again?
