When I finally got the referral to a urologist for my vasectomy (after changing jobs and then my new switching insurance and having to start over), I needed my wife to sign a "spousal consent form" for them to perform the procedure. She signed ofc, but still.
@CornellWriter I love this! That said, I often use the aspiring label because it's what I'd love to be able to do full time, but at this point (either because of where my work's at or what the opportunities are or some combination of the two) that's not a realistic possibility.

@lapis_lazuli11 Not quite a book, but Strindberg's Miss Julie is so masterful you can read it as a critique of his views. But it's not what it's intended to be and I vehemently disagree with his thesis.
@Komaniecki_R I thoroughly enjoyed your rankings, and while some of my favorites were not ranked as high as I would like, I think I am about as qualified to dispute them as those film critics who thought Let It Go sounded like a 60's era musical.

The difference in support I found when I moved from academia to the nonprofit world was staggering. I loved academia but it's ruthless.
