Through partnership with the KCB Foundation, the Governor said the program is expected to create job opportunities and empower the youth across the county.
The Youth acquired skills through learning at the Meru National Polytechnic. The skills were amongst others masonry, plumbing, metal work and catering, which had been instrumental in positioning them for opportunities in various organizations.
She was accompanied by water Chief officer, Jack Muthamia, Naathu and Antuambui Ward MCAs, Mutura and Gitonga Jackson respectively, in an impact assessment tour of county water projects in the northern grazing region
Speaking during a tour of the Hydroponic farm, Meru County Governor, Kiraitu Murungi said he had reserved over 200 acres for a similar initiative in the county under a project dubbed "youth in agriculture" to be launched soon.
Meru Youth Service program has bore more fruits as several graduates from the service had been contracted by the KCB Foundation to construct over 100 Hydroponic technology system Greenhouses in Ngong, Kenya.

Governor Kiraitu's drilled Buulu borehole in Naathu Ward transforms the northern grazing zone in the county. The borehole has boosted security in the region, increased both human and livestock population which has even resulted to development of a market center.
