She mentions that something in Genesis, so she must cite the exact place that you can find the idea she discussed. This is common knowledge for academic writing as a student.

If you rephrase an idea that isn't your own (in your memory or not) you must cite it. Try actually reading my reply, processing it, then engaging with what I said.

She has to cite them because the ideas and statments from them are not her own. If she doesn't do that it's considered plagiarism. Even if she doesn't claim they are her own ideas/statements in the paper.

She could have found a way to implement her religious beliefs by briefly imagining up a new study. It wasn't a problem that she disagreed with the article's findings, it's how she went about her disagreement.

This was a psych course, she needed scientific sources on top of her idealogical ones. She also needed to cite properly and engage with the topic material more explicitly.

@altairvizion @fettR6S She would need to use the APA format bc it was a psych course. So the fact that it's not even in MLA format is really the cherry on top. Couldn't even do the most basic of formats.

@JTshark_ @fettR6S Dude I'm getting prompts with less details plus typos. I'm in grad school. I would be so happy to get a prompt that clear and specific. That prompt is so clear that it is shocking how poorly written this essay is. Only possible addition would be stated citation/source limit

@stolphie @HeavensValor @fettR6S Fr! I had teachers freshman year tell the class that if you use the words "I", "I think", or "I believe" it was an automatic fail. If you lacked citations it was an automatic fail, if you were off topic it was an automatic fail. Why is a JUNIOR unable to fathom why she failed?

I rarely used a title page but was always required to have a references/work cited page. Even on 2 page essays. In some classes I would have gotten a 0 for merely saying "I think" or "I believe".
