So yes, when someone marries someone else who already has kids, and they take them on as their own kid, that is a thing that should be celebrated.

Clearly a blended family isn't ideal. But they are a large part of the society we have. You can advocate for the ideal situation of marrying young and be married for 65+ years until you die. That's great. But you can still be happy for people who made a less than ideal situation work. The Wilsons have clearly done a great job of this.
