The world changing no-namers of Acts 11 broke from the ethnocentrism of the Jerusalem church. “Those who were scattered because of persecution spoke the word to no one except Jews. But some of them who came to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus.”
Substitution... what a wonderously beautiful doctrine. He donned the filthy rags of our sins so that we might be enrobed with His righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21: For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
@calebcrider Your tweet said, The mission is to make disciples, not “reach all the unreached.” Our mission can’t be reduced to making disciples. Revelation 5:9 “ Worthy are you...for you were slain, and by your blood ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
Maundy Thursday: maundy from Latin mandatum means command. John 13:34-35: “ A new command: love one another as I have loved you, so love one another. By this all people will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Loving each other is key to discipling all nations.
Father, Hallowed be Your Name, is not a declaration but a petition, it is a missions prayer. How can His name be hallowed by peoples who have never heard it? Join us today in prayer, “Father, may news about Your name spread to the 7K people groups who have yet to hear.” Amen!
And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. - Luke 2:10
Good news is meaningless until it arrives. 40% of the world, 7,000 peoples still have little to no gospel access. The status quo is unacceptable!
The Lord’s Anointed Reigns. The rulers and kings of the earth are ultimately pawns that do His bidding. The Divine Maestro is orchestrating all things for His glory. Discouraged or fretful on this Election Day? Read Psalm 2.
Was asked, “Are churches less interested in missions now and more focused on staying afloat?” I answered, “If missions mattered before Corona, it still matters. If it was just a side-interest, it’s likely been further marginalized.” Squeeze something & what’s inside comes out!
“I used to think that God's gifts were on shelves one above the other... I find now that God's gifts are on shelves one beneath the other and that is not a question of growing taller, but of stooping lower and that we have to go down, always down to get His best ones.” FB Meyer
A gospel that leads us to be more concerned with self-preservation than we are with Kingdom-expansion is a species of the temptations that Satan threw at Jesus in the wilderness. Luke 4:1-13
The Church has experienced the shifting of mission-related definitions over many decades. More than ever, we now have to contextualize our conversations both on the mission field and within the missions community itself. https://t.co/GPpwse0W34

There is no one who calls upon your name, who rouses himself to take hold of You. Isaiah 64:7 God stir us out of our lethargy to seize hold of You-The status quo cannot continue. O that You would burst forth from the skies and come down, comsume us with the fire of Your presence.
