@Johanna_@BorsetFinance@Nynzi I also find it interesting that Alistair was on the receiving end of a very similar Dear John convo with Shula back in the day (except for the absence of an ‘other’ in that situation). No indication that he has made that connection however nor that it causes him any discomfort.
Great writing and acting this week and Friday’s ep in particular - complex emotional responses requiring nuanced performances, even in the timing of brief silences. Bravo everyone at #TheArchers
@Dr_Kate_Newey By Jenny, but not by Brian, whose favourites (I reckon) go Alice, Debbie, Ruari, Kate, Adam. Brian has never held Alice accountable for anything. So Kate has a point, well made. Love her when she’s being serious and grown up. #thearchers
@andylampy@BBC I don’t think it is lazy. I think it’s well researched. Most alcoholics need more than one go at rehab before they can sustain recovery, and getting involved with another alcoholic (active or recovering) is high risk. Doesn’t mean she won’t get there eventually #thearchers
@asteroidchick Gives me the absolute heebie jeebies. Has done from the start. Can’t get past the unbelievable smarm levels. Not to mention how incredibly patronising he is (‘Mate’). Bleagh.
The conversation is all about what Social Services (and police) did or didn’t do. But where were the family? The neighbours? Why did no one close to that little boy check on him in almost two weeks? The most terrible indictment on what our society has become #WATO
@TheCiderShedPod I can’t believe she would move on from lovely, decent Chris (he of the truly lovely voice btw) to this Made in Chelsea extra whose life experience probably doesn’t extend far beyond his alma mater. Ugh.
@TheCiderShedPod@amandacockayne1 I think he’d be on morphine at the very least. It’s end of life care is it not? And also no way he would be left alone if death is imminent.
@MDut21@linniRsbooks@ExeterDormouse @BrendaMSelwyn I have hope for Ben and Beth. That was meant to be. Alice and Chris were young and different people when they got together. They are good friends now and that’s healthy for both of them. As for Helen - unlikely she will go back to Lee I reckon, for reasons already discussed.
@linniRsbooks@ExeterDormouse @BrendaMSelwyn Ben’s break up with Beth was more guilt and self harm than anything else. More ‘I am not worthy’ than ‘I need to deal with this myself’. Tragic waste of a promising relationship if you ask me.
