Leaving an AAU tournament yesterday, I heard a parent tell their child, “You should’ve scored more.”

What if we celebrated great passes as much as points?

The best players make everyone around them better.

FINAL:
@Pickensbball – 50
@FanninCobball – 58

Fannin County walks away with a tough road win over Pickens in a hostile environment.

Kolton Kaylor (@koltonk23) was special, to say the least. At 6’7, Kaylor plays with guard skills, elite athleticism, and a strong feel for the game. He consistently made the right reads with the ball in his hands, and his activity on the defensive end stood out. His mobility lets him sit down and defend guards on the perimeter while still protecting the paint at a high level. Kaylor finished with 22 points and stuffed the stat sheet across multiple categories.

Keaton Watkins (@keatonwatkins27) provided a strong post presence all game, and Fannin went to him whenever they needed a steady bucket. He controlled the glass and brought physicality inside, ending with 13 points.

Pickens fought hard but came up just short. Their backcourt of McCord Purdy (@McCordP_11) and DJ Mitchell (@Djmitchell0) was exciting to watch, two guards with quick triggers who play with confidence and a great feel for the game. Purdy scored 19 points with six threes, while Mitchell added 18 with five threes of his own.

Kolton Kaylor knocked down his 1000th point and recorded another double-double in Saturday’s win over Union Co. Keaton Watkins also recorded another double-double.
