SUSPECT IN MAURITIUS JOB SCAM ARRAIGNED
Maria Wangare Kamunge, alias Rish Kamunge, the Director Trustpine Travel Agency, has been arraigned for her involvement in a job scam that targeted Kenyans seeking employment in Mauritius.
Victims reported paying between Sh200,000 and Sh400,000 for job placements, only to discover that the promised opportunities were nonexistent.
Some individuals even travelled to Mauritius, where they found themselves stranded at the airport without assistance and were ultimately deported back to Kenya.
Investigations have revealed that a total of 43 victims sent Sh12.9 million to the suspect.
Rish Kamunge appeared in court for custodial orders and was subsequently remanded at Capital Hill Police Station.
The case is scheduled for mention today, March 28, 2025.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations urges anyone who might have fallen victim to this job scam to come forward and report the matter at the Central Police Station in Nairobi.
If you or someone you know has been scammed by Vintmark, speak up! Report, share, and demand action. We won’t stop until justice is served! #JusticeForJobSeekers#EndJobScams
It’s great to see action being taken against job scammers like Trustpine Travel Agency, but what about Vintmark Agency? Victims have lost millions, and yet its director, Ceaser Wagicheru King’ori, is still walking free. Why the double standards?

We commend @DCI_Kenya for arresting Maria Kamunge, but we demand the same energy be applied to Vintmark. Thousands of lives have been ruined! When will they face justice?

@DCI_Kenya Great job @DCI_Kenya on taking action against Trustpine Travel Agency. But what about Vintmark Agency? Victims have reported losing over Ksh 720 million, OB reports have been filed, yet Ceaser Wagicheru King’ori is still free. Why the selective justice. We demand answers!

While you’re busy discussing opportunities abroad, countless Kenyans have been scammed by agencies like Vintmark, with no accountability or support. Why are we investing in international labor export when our own youth are being exploited? #KingoriMustAnswer
This is a wake-up call. The Vintmark scam has stolen people’s dreams and livelihoods, and it’s crucial we work together to expose and hold such entities accountable.

It’s disappointing that @DrAlfredMutua continues to praise people to apply for jobs outside while ignoring the scam at home.Instead of tackling these frauds, like Vintmark, which have already hurt so many.We need accountability, not misplaced endorsements.
