These two images were taken by @astro_reid only minutes apart. The stark difference is the result of camera settings. In the first, a longer shutter speed let in much more light from Earth, while the shorter shutter speed in the second emphasizes our planet's nighttime glow.
Liftoff.
The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon.
Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.
@ladydesiree Working in an antique store these past 2 years, there is a huge push back for physical media. We can't keep up. DVD, cassette and cd sales are getting on par with vinyl and vhs.
@uhmaayyze This is why when I came back from my break, I went to Twitch. As a community driven creator, it's been a vibe. I'm happier. My community is highly engaged. Kick lost that somewhere along the way.
I asked my community when I decided to come back which platform they preferred as a viewer. It's Twitch by a landslide. Even w/ ads.
A few bucks an hour isn't enticing enough to stream or multistream on Kick right now for me. Chat has been far more engaging on Twitch by far.
The experience as of lately with Kick.
I love the platform but what I feel about the platform is just results as of lately.
- No clear path to growth.
- No strong discovery tools
- Contracts favor top creators, not grinders
- Mid creators feel stuck or invisible
- Chat often dead unless you’re already big.
- raids, hype culture not the same as Twitch.
- Hard to feel alive as a viewer watching as a creator.
- Viewers don’t build habits they leave.
- Follow for Follow.
- Tab for Tab.
Twitch = community + emotes + culture.
YouTube = content + longevity.
TikTok = virality
Kick = ??? You get what I mean?
Right now it feels like a place where big streamers stream instead of a culture.
Yes, creators get paid which is a game changer for creators but Viewers don’t feel rewarded/engaged.
No strong loyalty systems.
No reason to stay vs just watch clips elsewhere.
It becomes transactional, not community driven.
All love at the end of the day but just opinions.
Yesterday, I celebrated 39 years around the sun, so tonight we celebrate! I'm vibing with Twitch so that's where we'll be 🤘
Massive thank you to my community for showing up like I never left. I fucking love y'all!
