Also you should demand the timely(once in 5-6 years) revision of the RBA/SC/ST areas and families, so that those already benefitted in these 5-6 years don’t take undue advantage of reservation policy at the cost of truly deserving ones!
Subcateagorisation should be immediately implementation is need of hour.
Being a Member of Vulnerable Bakerwal tribe supporting their case to throw away elite class in ST.
Quota of each category is responsible for the demise of merit. OM is open to all, even reserved ones & anyone who works hard can qualify in it.
%ages of all quotas must be decreased and false depiction of "marginalization" to enjoy reservation must be called out.

The govt should also implement a mandatory service bond (to serve their native area of residence-the basis of their selection)to the people getting recruited via SC/ST/RBA.
This way the motive of “upliftmemt via reservation” will be actually met!
@RuhullahMehdi@parawahid
@zawiya_19 @MehBakhshi killing the merit, govt should focus on implementing the mandatory service bond over the respective ST/SC/RBA selected candidates in any department(be it health, education or whatsoever) so that the actual purpose of upliftment via reservation is met!

So rather than demanding reservations by

This video is a prime example of how cliched 50% MYTHS which I already debuked are being peddled again to justify the disproportionate reservations in J&K.Sadly our esteeemed Journalists haven't asked a single rebuttal on this 50% myth.
Lets do a Revision class of just 2 FACTs(out of many) for all our Journo friends who clearly seem clueless :
1) Stretching Reservation to 50% is an extreme case scenario & not the default rule as per the Constitution.
It is done in states where Reserved Population is greater than 65% (as seen in most states of our country eg Bihar ,Chattisgarh,MP, Jharkand etc).
In J&K ,the dynamics are entirely different hence 50% Reservation is a non-starter.
Since General population of J&K is highest in India viz 69% as per last official census 2011 (the data which was used to formulate presently skewed Reservation policy) there is no ground to take Reservations to 50% by default. It is patently unconstitutional and illegal as per all SC & HC judgements since principle of adequate representation and various other tests haven't been followed in current Reservation system.
Even if for the sake of assumption ,the current General Population of J&K has somehow miraculously decreased to 55% (suppose) ,even then as per the Constitutional principles and 'OM /General UR ratio' which sees OM =1.5 X,2X ,3X times the General UR population all across India ,even then under NO circumstances can Open Merit be less than 76.5% in the worse case population scenario for General UR population(assuming it is only 55% presently ).
2) OM & General are two different terms.
Share of General = OM(currently 30% - Share taken by Reserved from OM)
Current Vertical and Horizontal Reservation ( all taken from OM ) take Reservation to 70% leaving 30% for OM where Reserved again inavriably take 1/3 share leaving meagre 20% effectively for 69% general population.
While effective share for Reserved =70% closed +10 (approx) from OM =80% ~
Way out :
Rationalisation not scrapping.
Untill new census happens ,rationalise as per the official census we have .
Give 4-5% maximum quotas since constitution prescribes Adequate Representation & not some fancy political slogan like 'jitne abadi utna haq' or prorata.
Infact our Constitution & father of Reservations ,DR B R AMBEDKAR gave us the realm of 'Merit as the Rule and Reservation as exception and NOT vice-versa'.
If and Only If, a section of population isn't adequately represented in OM,then it prescribes adequate representation [(Art 16(4)] (mere enabling provision) and not 'EXCESSIVE elite quotas' as seen presently.
By all metrics across the country ,the number for OM cannot be below 76.5% in J&K.
Under this revised policy, the Reserved categories will have 4-5% adequate closed quota each giving 23.5% allocation from reserved category and invariably take 1/3 (33%) from OM too..(23.5+33=56.5%)
Only this scenario will leave somehwere around 43-45 % for current General Population which is still not adequate but still a respectable figure for General UR population in JAMMU & KASHMIR.
It will lead to a balance between merit and affirmative action tailored to dynamics of J&K as envisoned by the founding fathers of our Constitution.

PS: Do Watch the fact checker video pinmed on my profile for full coverage on Reservation issue .
A must watch for our journos and policy makers.
Patna High Court scraps 65% reservation for Backward Classes, EBCs, SCs & STs.
The Court set aside the Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (Amendment) Act, 2023 and The Bihar (In admission in Educational Institutions) Reservation (Amendment) Act, 2023 as ultra vires and violative of the equality clause under Articles 14, 15 and 16
Don't know who drafted this, but the words of the very subject of this notification are deeply problematic ,so here is how it actually should be :
'projected' ❌️ existing✅️
'section of aspirants' ❌️
General Unreserved Population of J&K✅️
'for various posts' ❌️
for posts and admissions✅️
Also lacks on 3 pointers:
●Time bound nature
●Domain experts
●Student/Candidate representation
In order for something concrete to emerge we suggest committee take relevant corrective measures.
Also 70% is the bare min number for OM in J&K considering its population dynamics and OM/UR population ratio .
📌 Demands of NEET Aspirants:
1. 64% Open Merit (OM) seats in NEET-UG/
No gender based 50% Reservation.
2. 75% Open Merit (OM) seats in NEET-PG.
3.Rule 17 amendment :If a category candidate secures a better branch or college using their category, the seat should be deducted from the category quota, not from Open Merit.

J&K’s Rule 17 Of the Reservation Rules(2004-2005): A Draconian Blow to Merit!
This unique rule gives undue advantage to Reserved Category students by letting them take two seats, one from Open Merit and another through category upgrades.
Elsewhere in India, if a Reserved Category student secures an Open Merit seat, their upgraded seat goes back to Open Merit. But in J&K, Rule 17 sends it to the Reserved Category instead, sidelining merit.
This unjust system is breaking dreams and fueling resentment among deserving Open Merit aspirants. Meritocracy must prevail.
