Youth Kindness in Action this Month: We want to thank K-Kids, CTMS Builders, WHS Key Club, and Troop 15120 for making adoption posters, stuffing dog treats and giving cuddles to our adoptable kitties & canine duos--Laverne & Shirley and Millie & Bailey. You all Rock!!
Since our inception, the mission of NHES has been to foster a sentiment of kindness to animals. We appreciate those who support animal welfare groups and shelters who take on the sometimes thankless job of rescuing homeless animals to create a more humane world
Farm animals live in abusive conditions and are subjected to painful, unnecessary slaughter worldwide. Please donate to an organization that will help the fight for the equality of all animals.
We wish we had more! Sadly, dogs with dark coats are overlooked for various reasons. These sweethearts are waiting for you to pick them up and take them to their forever home. Help us celebrate National Black Dog Day by showing and telling us all about your own special pup!
This week is National Farm Animals Awareness Week. It brings attention to the plight of animals housed in “factory farms” and the necessity to increase humane handling and living conditions for them. These creatures are deserving of our respect and care.
The second Sunday of September is National Pet Memorial Day. We remember those who are longer with us, like Star here, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge back in 2018.
The Animal Welfare Act was enacted 57 years ago today. Initially, it was named the Laboratory Animal Welfare Act and used to regulate animals used in research. Through amendments made since its inception, it sets the minimum standards of care and protection for all animals.
A big, epic Happy World Rhino Day to our very own big, epic Harry the Rhino! Harry was given to us from the Sweeney family and stands proudly on our campus. Go to https://t.co/cDDtkOMD2s and read all about him and rhinos. Or stop by and take a photo with him. He won’t mind!
As we’re getting ready for the 4th this weekend, please be considerate of our animals. Although it's an important holiday, it’s just another day for them. Loud explosions may be fun, but for them, it’s terrifying. Be safe with friends and family out there, including the animals.
It’s been a pretty wild month for our kitties, and even though today is the last day to donate, it’s not too late! Please donate if you can by going to: https://t.co/XMjl4uKbhS
Happy Father’s Day to all the big dogs out there! By the way, if you’re thinking of becoming a dog papa or adding to the family, every dog here is available for adoption. To view adoptable animals rescued by NHES' flagship animal facility, visit https://t.co/p9Jd3EnSrI
