Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice and resilience shown by those who served and lived through World War II as we mark VE Day.
81 years on from Victory in Europe Day, we reflect on the importance of unity, community and gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy today. Across the country, people will come together to honour the generation whose strength and determination helped shape the future.
At the NPTA, we recognise the value of service, commitment and supporting communities , principles that continue to guide so many within our industry today.
We remember those who gave so much.
We thank those who served.
And we honour the legacy they left behind.

We need your in your input:
Over the past few years, many of us have seen changes in rodent activity… but do we have the data to back it up? recently we have been asked by a major food retailer for information on rodent activity.
Which got us to thinking, what a great idea for a survey.
The NPTA is launching a short industry survey to build a clear, evidence-based snapshot of rodent activity across the UK and Ireland
We’re asking pest professionals to share their insights on:
- Changes in rat and mouse activity over the past 2 and 4 years
- What’s really driving any increases
- Seasonal trends and patterns
- What you’re seeing on the ground vs within your business
The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete, and all responses are anonymised and aggregated.
Take part here: https://t.co/CUlK6NKios
Closing date for responses - 4th of May!!!
If you’re working in pest control, we want to hear your views.

Budget 2025: What It Means for the Pest Control Sector
The Autumn Budget brings several changes that will directly influence how pest control businesses plan for 2026 and beyond. From wage increases to fuel duty freezes, the sector will need to adapt while preparing for long term workforce development.
We’ve summarised the key points and what they mean for our industry in a new article: 👉 https://t.co/eKjTAJBMMQ
Headline impacts include:
• National Living Wage rising to £12.71 from April 2026, with higher rates for younger workers.
• Fuel duty frozen until at least September 2026,
• Corporation tax frozen, helping companies plan investment in vans, equipment and business growth.
• Long term pay pressures remain due to frozen tax thresholds and future changes to salary sacrifice pensions.
The Budget reinforces how important it is for our sector to invest in people, skills and the right operational planning.
