I just returned from classes this evening. After freshening up and having something to eat, I checked my social media, and the first thing I saw was the heartbreaking Oyo kidnapping incident.
It got me thinking… what if it were me? What if I had been kidnapped while attending BCH 418 or any other lecture? What would I have done? Would my mother be able to bear such devastating news? Where would my life go from there?
And what if I never made it back home? What would become of my mother? What would happen to my younger siblings?
These thoughts are painful, but they remind us that this tragedy could happen to anyone. Today, it’s them. Tomorrow, it could be someone we know and love.
Dear Nigerians, let’s not grow tired. Let’s not move on as if nothing happened. Let’s keep speaking up and demanding action until every victim is safely reunited with their families.
Oh God, please have mercy on our nation. Protect these innocent children and their teachers who were simply going about their daily lives. Bring them home safely and comfort every family living through this nightmare. 🙏🥹🇳🇬
