Meet Carl Reindorf, one of the most outstanding Ghanaians of the 19th century.
Reindorf served as a minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in the 19th century. He also served as a soldier in the Anlo War and other wars and doubled as a physician and chaplain in the military campaigns
His book, the HISTORY OF THE GOLD COAST AND ASANTE published in 1895 has been widely acknowledged and celebrated as the first history book about Africans written by an African. The book was written in English and Ga, but the Ga version has never been published.
By the kind courtesy of the Akrofi-Christaller Institute, I will be sharing excerpts of the book here ahead of its release.

When Tina Turner passed in 2023, Flack reflected on their time there in an IG post, honoring their shared legacy

Quincy Jones's 1960 track "Ghana" from The Great Wide World of Quincy Jones, draws on African themes in jazz, inspired by Ghana's recent independence at the time. Blending rich rhythms and harmonies, Jones captures the spirit of a rising global movement.
