11 South Africans Killed in One Night in Cape Town as Gunmen Target Three Communities
Eleven people were shot dead in three separate attacks across Cape Town overnight, prompting Western Cape police to increase deployments in Langa, Gugulethu and Khayelitsha.
Three men, aged 25, 31 and 35, were killed in TR Section, Lingelethu West, Khayelitsha, at approximately 10:50pm on Saturday. Just five minutes earlier, four men and one woman had been shot dead on Winnie Mandela Street in Langa.
In the third attack, two men and a woman were killed in Barcelona informal settlement, Gugulethu, at approximately 4:10am on Sunday. Two other victims were injured and are reportedly fighting for their lives.
Police are investigating the motive behind the three shootings. No arrests have been made, and additional officers have been deployed to affected communities and other identified crime hotspots.

South African Stolen Bakkie Found In Malawian Village
Police in Dowa have recovered a brand new Nissan Navara motor vehicle suspected to have been stolen.

Police say law enforcers received a tip-off from well-wishers that a man at Nyemba village in the area of Traditional Authority Msakambewa in the district, was keeping a suspicious vehicle at his residence.

Dowa police spokesperson, Alice Sitima says acting on the tip-off, police rushed to the scene, where they found the vehicle parked at the premises.

She notes that interrogations revealed that the vehicle had been brought in by the custodian’s son, Blessings Mbalangwe, who resides in South Africa. The suspect is currently at large.

The vehicle has since been impounded and handed over to the Anti-Motor Vehicle Branch for further inquiries, while investigations continue to trace and arrest the suspect.
