--a moment, Shadowbolt readied an attack, sounding a loud high-pitched sound before launching it towards a farm, busting down a perfectly fine stall, freeing the animals within so he could feast on at least one.

But all that noise he made was sure to draw attention...

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

Shadowbolt had flown through the dark skies, blending in just about perfectly, especially the areas that had too much light pollution to be able to see the stars too well.

The peace and silence wouldn't last however, he needed to strike; the black dragon was starving.

Given--

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten If the dragon could speak, he likely would have by now. Since was unable to speak, he just gazed in the boy's direction, still tense and examining him for any wrong move.

In the midst of the day, the black dragon bounded through snow, pouncing and frolicking through the icy flakes. He appeared to be very happy and free at the time.
Shadowbolt thought himself to be alone, however, he was wrong. There was a hidden someone watching him.

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten The ear plates at the top of the dragon's head shifted at the sudden break of the silence. He didn't respond to Ritsuka though, he couldn't.
There was something akin to a pause in time for a moment until Shadowbolt blinked and leapt away, squinting at him now from a distance.

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten Slowly, upon examination of Ritsuka, the harsh expression on the dragon's face melted to something a little softer and he stared back, slit eyes rounding out and appearing softer.
His guard wasn't down however... he never knew what to expect from others.

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten --big misty-eyes of the humanoid before him.
He'd never seen a face like that be made... apart from that, he was so small compared to the others.
While the threatening expression remained, his slit eyes now took time to examine him now, up close.

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten Ritsuka had the opportunity, now Shadowbolt charged and pounced at the young male, soon four black paws slammed against the ground mere centimetres from the adolescent.
Retracted teeth now emerged fully out from the gums.
However, now, up close, the beast was able to see the--

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten --alternate approach.
The dragon wasn't too close to Ritsuka but he definitely locked his green eyes onto the young one's form.

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten After searching a moment, Shadowbolt located Ritsuka and after his sights set on him, he snarled with a ferocity to hopefully send him running.
He wasn't too fond of humans and many humanoids so he would scare them away when spotted. If that didn't work, he'd often take an--

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten Shadowbolt slowly began to hiss and growl, gazing around frantically.
Instinct told him to locate the scent, so he made it his focus to do so; he searched, stalking the area which was... rather difficult for a black dragon to do in white snow.

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten --male and it allowed him to pick up his scent.
Shadowbolt stopped a moment, continuing to sniff the air but hadn't quite seen the lad yet.

[Shadowbolt @TheNightsDragon]

@xUnloved_Kitten He trashed through the snow with recklessness as the wild animal he was, leaving long trails of paw prints and plowed snow.
The black dragon hadn't known much peace in his time but that soon became short-lived.
After his running around, he managed to reach closer to the young--

The black dragon soared through the night sky, undeterred by the cold wind that whipped against his dark body.
He flew lower to the ground to search for food, some light may have even shone off of him.
