So, this afternoon I got home to find a lovely letter from @northernassist telling me about how they wanted to prosecute me for using the below ticket to travel on the specified route at a peak time.
I paid £1.90 less than the fare they say I should have paid.

I’ve been a high school teacher for almost 34 years.

So far, my wife, also a teacher and I have managed to survive the rising epidemic of school shootings.

Every loud noise from the hall makes me wonder if my lucks run out. When there’s a crash in the building the kids start eyeing the exits I run through my plan. I wonder if I’ll be brave enough to shelter them from bullets like far too many other teachers have done in the past.

I have 250 teaching days left till retirement. Will I make out? Will my wife?

Donald Trump was asked today if he would commit to prioritizing legislation to make childcare affordable, and if so, what specific legislation he would advance.

This is an unedited transcript of his response:

Well, I would do that, and we're sitting down, and I was, somebody, we had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so, uh, impactful on that issue. It's a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I'm talking about, that, because, look, child care is child care is. Couldn't, you know, there's something, you have to have it – in this country you have to have it.

But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I'm talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they're not used to — but they'll get used to it very quickly – and it's not gonna stop them from doing business with us, but they'll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Uh, those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we're talking about, including child care, that it's going to take care.

We're gonna have - I, I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with, uh, the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country, because I have to stay with child care. I want to stay with child care, but those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I'm talking about, including growth, but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just, uh, that I just told you about.

We're gonna be taking in trillions of dollars, and as much as child care, uh, is talked about as being expensive, it's, relatively speaking, not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers we'll be taking in. We're going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people, and then we'll worry about the rest of the world. Let's help other people, but we're going to take care of our country first. This is about America first. It's about Make America Great Again, we have to do it because right now we're a failing nation, so we'll take care of it. Thank you. Very good question. Thank you.

We have now made it to Sarajevo and have been able to relax a bit. Mike will probably have a few more grey hairs from the border crossing and the driving, but it’s all part of the adventure!

It was a stressful day today!
We headed out of Montenegro today through Piva Canyon. It’s a beautiful place, but with long winding roads, countless tunnels and long, long drops to the side, it was quite hard work in our 15.5m long RV & Tow-Car combo!

It was then on to a very shonky looking bridge to go over the depths of the canyon and get to the border.
We had no problems leaving Montenegro, but entering Bosnia & Herzcegovina (Republika Sprska) entailed crossing an ancient, very, very narrow metal bridge

Finally, we had a 3 hour trip, mainly on single track mountain roads with innumerable hair pin bends and some of the steepest inclines we’ve been on yet.

It’s the first time in 22 countries that we’ve been asked for a bribe by a border guard or cop, and we were not impressed. It took more than half an hour but we were finally able to get on our way with our wallets intact!

with a 12T weight limit, in our RV weighing 11T - far too near the limit for our liking, particularly as they don’t seem to believe in maintenance! Then, the border guard in Bosnia wanted to “come to an agreement” to continue on our way.

@cleanupbritain We are currently travelling in a van in Europe and planned to collect litter to help mitigate our environmental impact. All through northern EU & into Scandinavia, couldn’t find any to collect! (Different story now in Serbia!)
Scotland (home) has been one of the worst places!

The last couple of days have been work days, repairing the hydraulic system. The motor packed in, but luckily we found a little garage under a bridge in Plovdiv that refurbished it! It’s refitted and we’re back on the road!
