Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart…and hope returned to him. For…the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.

Over 8% of Americans have been confirmed infected and .2% of the entire population has died from Covid. The vaccine reduces your chances of infection by 1000x and reduces your chances of death by 2000x. It's an absolute no brainer, folks.
Go. Get. Poked.
@OuiCherieCherie @Matt_Terrill The more I listen to Orthodox people on the atonement, the more I'm convinced PSA is not one of many facets to atonement, but is simply wrong.
I'd recommend the Lord of Spirits podcast, esp. Ep. 15 here:

Co-sign. Christianity didn't "steal" pagan festivals, as is often claimed. But even if we did, that's what you get to do when your God killed all the false gods with His death and then rose from the dead.
This year more than most I need to hear that evil doesn't get the last word, but good does. That sin doesn't get the last word, but grace does. That death doesn't get the last word, but life does.
Sing to your fledglings again,
Mother, oh, lift up your head!
Evil that plagues us is slain,
Death in the garden lies dead.
Terror that hid in the roses is impotent—flung

Ol’ Roy will always have a special place in my daggum heart. He was coach of my favorite team from the time I was old enough to understand KU basketball to the time I eventually went to school at KU. Lot of amazing achievements, and a stellar career. Here’s to a great retirement.
If you grew up in Kansas in the 90s, it’s impossible to overstate how central Roy Williams felt at the time. It was a different era of college hoops, of course, but those teams had a charm that’s hard to describe now. The first sports thing I ever cared about.
