Jet fuel, and possibly burst water pipes, pouring from both of the twin towers.

This footage is filmed from the west side of the World Trade Center complex. Very little footage this close shows the towers from this angle.

Did you know that there were 5,000 gallon water reserve storage tanks in the 20th, 41st, 75th, and 110th floors in each tower.

A water pipe that was ripped out can be seen on cedar street next to the orthodox church.

This looks like official FDNY footage, as everyone has been cleared out by this point.

It appears to be taken on church st, next to wtc5 and looking at wtc4.

Footage from the international space station as the south tower is collapsing, synchronized with New York City footage.

Look at the defined trail from the smoke and debris headed towards the south east, straight over Brooklyn and what looks to be Rockaway beach.

This perspective from a NYPD helicopter makes you feel like you’re there. One of the detectives on board happened to have his personal video camera with him, which is the footage we see here.

The purpose of this mission was to survey the damage, assess the stability of the towers, and look to see if roof rescue missions (similar to 1993) were possible.

You can see the entire wtc complex here, including the north and south tower, the Marriott hotel, and tower 6 on the north end.

Footage filmed almost immediately after the collapse of the north tower, before much of the first responder efforts even arrived.

This is mostly captured along church street, I’d say on the south corner as most of the wind and dust cloud blew south during 9/11. You can still see surrounding buildings, some of which were apart of the main wtc complex, burning and would eventually collapse.

Everybody had a story that day. Their own unique perspective and recollection of what occurred during 9/11.

For some, it was on the water. It is estimated that up to 500,000 people were rescued by boat in 9 hour period.

Remember, it was a perfect sunny day in early September, not a cloud in the sky. Millions of tourists, workers, and residents were enjoying that beautiful Tuesday.

More than 150 vessels came to rescue those who were trapped on the island, including ferries, coast guard, and private boats.

Absolute heroic effort.

Following the collapse of the north tower, perhaps there was a sense of desperate realization that it was all over, which seems to be the case here as hundreds make their way immediately to Ground Zero.

A large piece of the exterior wall from the south tower is spiked into the ground, standing several stories tall.

What could your feelings possibly be at a time like this? Helplessness .. confusion .. for some it was “time to get to work”.

Unfortunately, many thought that there would be an active recovery of life effort. That was not the case. It was silent ..

Incredibly close and surreal footage from Liberty street, directly across the street from the South Tower/WTC 4.

I would not rush to judge this man’s abnormal reaction to the footage he captured. People act and recall events differently when they’ve witness tragic events and experienced trauma.

The farmer’s market tents are abandoned. Random spot fires are spreading on Church street in front of Century 21 retail store. It seems oddly deserted.

The collapse of the South tower created a violent blast, shattering his windows and filling his apartment with debris / dust cloud.

South Tower remnants rained down to the South and East, directly towards Liberty street and his apartment.

Absolutely unbelievable footage.

World Trade Center occupants can be seen exiting south through WTC4, opting to go towards the southeast corner of church and Liberty, rather than directly across Liberty street - which was an incredibly grim scene.

You can see the abandoned farmers market tents which happens every Tuesday.

Towards the end of the footage you can see how Liberty Street is desolate and sparse atmosphere compared to the active and busy church street evacuation routes.

Clear and up close footage of United Flight 175 headed towards the south tower.

A few things jump out.

While everyone is deliberating about how a jet could hit the north tower, rather by accident or terrorism, this surely erased all doubt the America was indeed under attack.

Secondly, look at how the flight takes a second sharp turn to the left, hitting the side/corner of the tower. Some say that the south tower was close to being missed by flight 175 given the flight path.

Apparently this footage was uploaded but set to private 15 years ago, and only relatively recently has it been in limited circulation.

The collapse of WTC7 has always been a topic of confusion and controversy in the events that took place during 9/11.

Some genuinely question “how a massive tower several hundred feet away from wtc1 collapse the way it did” ..

In this footage you can see the initial collapse of the roof, and if you look closely it appears to streak down and rip inside the tower.

Then the wtc7 tower seems to twist into itself briefly before falling.

A rare perspective filmed on north side of the world trade center complex following the collapse of tower 1.

Everything is incinerated. Wtc7 is burning overhead, and will soon also collapse.

A strange and rather brave news segment amongst the carnage. Yet it’s so quiet besides some debris raining down, and no one else can be seen. Chilling.

In April 2013, more than 11 years after September 11th, a piece of a Boeing 767 was found in a tightly wedged, 18-inch alleyway more than a quarter-mile from the twin towers.

Investigators concluded that it did indeed come from one of those planes that struck the towers (both 767's), with probability going towards the United Airlines Flight 175.

This grainy footage filmed on an old pocket device is widely considered to be the only footage filmed in the south tower, showing what it actually looked like for evacuees.

You can see he pauses and films towards Liberty street, which I would say is the most haunting street out of any of the perimeters.

He then goes through the south tower lobby and towards the escalators leading down towards the underground mall.

Very real and some would say rare footage of 9/11.

Paul Berriff’s footage on 9/11 offers some of the closest and intense footage ever recorded of the South Tower’s collapse.

He was filming a documentary on the daily life of Bronx fire chief, and immediately brushed over towards the World Trade Center when the planes hit.

He accompanied and documented the command post on the south side of the west side highway, where crews were given their orders and dispatched.

At 9:59am the south tower collapsed, sending an echoing roar which you can feel in this footage.

The blast knocked Berriff to the ground and unconscious for about 25 minutes. When he awoke he was in pitch darkness, but amazingly as he crawled through dust and rubble, he found his shattered video camera, with the tape inside still intact.

Unfortunately, many of the firemen around Berriff and those dispatched in the footage did not survive the collapse of the south tower.

Cynthia Weil’s footage on 9/11 is particularly distressing. But these brave souls’ stories must be told and remembered. We must never forget what took place almost 25 years ago.

As Cynthia zooms in, it looks like what most have said to be a woman in white pants and black shirt waving from the edge of the tower. Fortunately the wind and smoke is blowing above her and to the east, giving her some clean air amongst the rubble 1000 ft in there air.

A few stories below her, on the east end of the north tower is a man in black and white who has also found himself a place on the tower to escape the inferno behind and above him, until a piece of debris hits and knocks him off balance.

Following this are two more brave souls whose only option was to escape the torture of the smoke and heat.

Never forget what happened that day. Respect and love to the victims, their families and the heroes who came together.

It’s surprising how many people were on Church st, looking up at and practically underneath the south tower just moments before collapse.

Following Evan Fairbanks “discussion” with the FBI regarding his 9/11 footage, you can see him exit the East doors of WTC5, putting him right at the base of the Millennium Hotel.

Evacuations are in a heavy flow. First responders are calm and professional.

Several onlookers stick around a few more moments until they find themselves up close to the 110 floors of the South tower forcibly and outwardly collapsing.

Richard Sherwin’s footage of the south tower collapsing on 9/11 is hard to believe.

Filming from the corner of church and chambers st, Richard captures the south tower collapsing.

But if you pause at 14 seconds, you can see the towers structural skeleton standing momentarily as the remainder of the tower falls around it.

Truly staggering.

“We were in 1, 2 fell first, and they told us to get out”

“2 fell first? I can’t figure this out! It fell while we were in the building?”

“When you guys were out of the building, 2 was already gone”

“Really??”

This just shows the raw emotion and magnitude of what just occurred. Adrenaline was driving them forward for the previous 2 hours. It wasn’t until they were back at the Duane Street Firehouse that they were able to process what actually took place.
