I am the stone that the builder refused
I am the visual, the inspiration
That made Lady sing the blues I'm the spark that makes your idea bright
The same spark that lights the dark
So that you can know your left from your right I am the ballot in your box, the bullet in the gun
The inner glow that lets you know to call your brother son
The story that just begun, the promise of what's to come
And I'ma remain a soldier 'til the war is won
THE COBRA EFFECT 🐍
During the British Raj, officials grew concerned about the rising number of venomous cobras in Delhi. To tackle the issue, they introduced a bounty for every dead snake.
At first, the policy seemed successful, many cobras were killed.
When we talk about class violence and exploitation, I’ve found a very intriguing example on Ghanaian TikTok.
There’s this guy who does birthday shoutouts, his name is kaly kaly.
People have been paying him to do for their friends and family. The shoutouts are quite energetic and funny.
Recently, he’s done like 5-10 for a coffie fx in particular.
Initially, I felt like maybe he’s promoting his trading course or whatever, bc he does birthday shoutout every day, but then.
He’s been insisting kaly kaly does it with more energy, making a big show of buying him energy drinks and all.
Online spectators are joking about refunding him his money, but I think there’s a deeper problem.
Regardless of the fact that you are paying, there’s something sinister and violent about making somebody perform so much.
It feels like a jester. This excessive insistence of making a mockery of themselves for you is borne of something I can’t put my finger on just yet
