That's funny, because we live in a 2-BR home on 2 lots with a pool and quincho in Funes - one of the safest and richest parts of the country - for $3k/mth.
Ppl that say shit like this think Argentina is Buenos Aires, and most have never truly explored any other markets.
Mostly a skill issue. First you need to get dangerous with the language. Basic fluency = table stakes. Problem is most ppl believe they can waltz into a wildly different reality and form meaningful relationships in 6-12 months while speaking like a mildly retarded 7th grader.
Being a foreigner in a country is brutal. You basically have to put 3x the effort to have a social life with locals and you cannot unlock the city without them.
Most would at best see you as an exotic friend, worst as a wallet or the national prejudice your countrymen have. Fun
I lived here for 3 years before finally getting a local bank account.
Capital One Venture X card works for everything, even PedidosYa and Uber.
If you want to transfer money directly to an invididual, the only way is with USDT, USDC, crypto, or Western Union.
Man itβs IMPOSSIBLE to pay people in Argentina π¦π· as a foreigner
I canβt:
- Withdraw money from an ATM with my international card
- Send them a bank transfer
- Use PayPal/Stripe link to pay them by card
Last time I was here I literally had to send myself cash via Western Union in order to pay for stuff
How do you guys handle it?
@Vanalich77@BuySellBA More or less, depending on exchange rate. But Iβm also including vacations, which accounts for another $10,000+ USD per year. Our basic living costs are only about $2,500 per month.
Not really, and this only (sort of) works with English.
Phonetic languages like Spanish ensure perfect pronunciation of every word as long as you know the alphabet.
There are no other possibilities, because the sounds of letters in phonetic languages are immutable.
@KobeissiLetter I don't know who tf people are following these days, but this feels nothing like 2022, which was orders of magnitude worse. Everyone had just lost their life savings and/or large portions of their net worth in FTX, LUNA, and other scammy bullshit. Retail never even came back.
@WillRicci This is why I suggest remote U.S. workers (especially those with families) consider LATAM. In Argentina, 2k/mth gets us a 2BR house in the countryside on 1/2 acre w/ grill, pool, amazing private school for our daughter, GREAT food, travel, etc. The American dream moved south.
@itsjacksworld It doesn't work like this in Argentina at all. That "get your residency in 7 days" shit only flies in Paraguay. Here, it's going to take you at least 6 months and that's if everything works out perfectly and you come here with all your docs from your home country already prepared
This is coincidentally the same logic behind killer fascinationsββone of the highest-ROI direct response levers you can pullββgiven that you can sell a $1,000+ product on the back of a single, well-crafted bullet.
You make people obsessed with you by being incomplete.
Give people 80% of what they need to understand you.. just enough to see the pattern but hold back the 20% that completes it.
That 20% is what they'll pay for access to.
@JoeConsorti It also turned its 50wk SMA into resistance which has confirmed the bear in every prior cycle in history (specifically, on the 2nd weekly close below it). Clock is ticking.
Did you know:
The 2nd weekly close below the 50 week SMA has confirmed the bear market EVERY SINGLE CYCLE in Bitcoin's 16 year history.
We're now below the 50 week.
Therefore, if the next 2 wks close below...it's over.
Nothing else to debate.
BREAKING: Bitcoin officially enters bear market territory, now down -20% since its record high seen on October 6th.
We are living in the most exciting market in history.
@junevHodl Ask them what their CAGR has been for their own clients for the past 10 or 15 years. Show them Bitcoinβs. Only then add you can send $5B of it on a random Sunday for like $1, which arrives in minutes. I could go on, but theyβll only be left with some bullshit straw man argument.
