I’ve loved Star Wars since I was a child, but an uncomfortable pill I’ve had to swallow has been the presence of misogyny in the movies and expanded universe. While still present in current canon, it really rears its ugly head in the Legends continuity.
My thoughts: a 🧵
@matpolloy I really liked Mask of Fear, but this is the best in the series so far. Roanhorse does such a great job balancing multiple plot lines and characters, and providing depth to new characters exclusive to this book
@matpolloy Chapter 2 was truly some sensational stuff. The cultural world building and providing Boba the community he so desperately craved was top notch. These parts of BoBF is some of SW’s finest
@SCentralized This reminded me of the old “made for TV movies” and that was one of my favorite eras. This movie was a ton of fun and a great entry for a young or casual audience. Great score and a lot of rewatch-ability
@lite_thespark I also took away that since she siphoned force energy from the dyad, he didn’t need a new body to posses. Rey and Ben “restored him” but you nailed it there with the deflection
@bones4918 Yeah as a whole, I am not a fan of Anakin’s characterization in TCW. He is portrayed so much better in Pre-TCW material that better aligns with the films
7/10 - Really fun movie and a great entry for casual fans or young audiences. I have a soft spot for self-contained adventures and I liked Grogu’s growth in this movie. Reminds me a lot of the fun made for TV movies from 20 years ago
