It never ceases to amaze how many supposedly educated people do not understand what “the press” means in the First Amendment. It refers to the press in the sense of publishing, historically the printing press. It does not create a privileged class called “journalists” with special constitutional rights unavailable to everyone else. The First Amendment protects the same freedom of speech for everyone, exactly as it should, and, as a second step, the press, as in the freedom to disseminate information, because freedom of speech is useless without the right to disseminate it. This is all very elementary stuff, and yet there are still countless people running around claiming that so-called journalists have special rights.

SCOOP: We just received videos of a disturbing event that took place on campus at Contra Costa College in CA

Students were directed to hit a Trump piñata until they decapitated it. Lorena Gonzalez, a counselor at the college, appeared to be overseeing it. After beheading the Trump piñata, Gonzalez appears to celebrate.

We reached out to @lifeatccc and they responded saying they don't "condone or allow violent political rhetoric." They then claim the incident was "addressed as a personnel matter" and refused to give further details.

The incident took place a few months ago. We just obtained the footage last week.

Gonzalez still appears as faculty on their website.

My new favorite thing is teen conservatives (who those of us with some experience in the movement know often shift hard left because they haven’t been around enough to build a solid foundation of conservative beliefs) loudly claiming that no conservative did anything before they personally became politically aware about three weeks ago.

Trump? He just came into existence out of the ether. No one ever did anything before him. No one ever accomplished anything before him. No one ever fought any fights before him. No one said the conditions in the Republican Party, the culture or the media – especially new media – that helped him triumph. He just spontaneously generated.

But don’t worry. The conservakidz have plenty of hack and cliché ideas about what happened in the past. They don’t understand it. They don’t know it. Of course they weren’t there. They came into being with a populous conservative movement in full swing, and somehow assumed that is the natural order of things. And the best part is they somehow think they deserve some of the credit for merely existing in a political world they had no part in creating.

Those of us who were in diapers a month ago are at the point where we’re being lectured to by people who never listened to Rush Limbaugh live on the radio, much less were around when Andrew Brietbart was revolutionizing the movement. The virgincons want their political participation trophies. No.

I’m not going to play that. You want respect? You want a voice? Get out in the trenches and earn it.
