NEWS: Minister for Youth, Women and People with Disabilities Sindisiwe Chikunga has denied allegations of nepotism in her office.
Reports revealed that those close to Chikunga and her deputy, Steve Letsike, were being hired or favoured over other candidates.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the Madlanga Commission’s reporting deadline to 16 November 2026. The Commission, probing criminality, political interference and corruption in the justice system, was originally due to report on 31 August.
The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) in Gauteng has welcomed the arrest of more than 150 suspected illegal miners during a joint operation by the police, South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and Sibanye Protection Services at Kloof Mine in Westonaria.

Former Tshwane Mayor and DA Federal Chairperson Solly Msimanga says he was never lobbied by clients of Tony Leon’s firm, Resolve Communications. Former party leader John Steenhuisen revealed that he felt uncomfortable with meetings set up by Leon’s firm on behalf of its clients.

Alleged underworld figure Vusimuzi Cat Matlala will no longer appear before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry investigating police corruption tomorrow. Evidence leaders have requested that his appearance be postponed to a later date, citing heightened media and public interest.
African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula, accused the opposition of hindering progress in relation to immigration issues.
He says when the ANC brought the BMA to Parliament, it was opposed by the Democratic Alliance and delayed by others in that house.
NEWS: There are still many Cabinet ministers who fail to answer written questions in Parliament. According to a parliamentary report, 10 out of 34 members of the Cabinet have failed to answer a quarter of the written questions posed to them this year.

JUST IN: Forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan will appear before the Madlanga Commission on Monday (29 June). He was subpoenaed earlier today.
He is expected to take the stand just after alleged drug trafficker Tumelo Nku following the postponement of his testimony last week.
President Cyril Ramaphosa told young people that the new Ekurhuleni University will have its first intake next year. The university, however, does not exist at all.
This was during an engagement with young people in Ekurhuleni.
