2026 will be a hard year to top. I have a successful business with Monsoon that turns 10 years old this July. Rhonda and I will be celebrating 15 years of marriage this September. Yesterday I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with an Interdisciplinary Human Sciences degree. Our family took in 3 incredible brothers from foster care that we are on track to adopt at the end of this year. Bringing our family up to 8 children! I will be beginning my Masters degree at Texas Tech in the fall in Family Consumer Sciences Education. I am leaving tomorrow to Dallas to complete my training and become a licensed TBRI practitioner that will continue to train foster, kinship, and adoptive parents, teachers, and child workers in trauma informed care through our work with Gethsemane Foster Initiative.
As I walked across the arena yesterday to receive my diploma, all I could think about was Gods faithfulness and perfect leadership. 2026 is proof that God can take a simple yes from a normal man and build an incredible story. Our life is full of chaos and joy, laughter and labor, His faithfulness mixed with our obedience. He is so good and I am truly the wealthiest man that I know.
@CrazyFans6@TechAthletics@TexasTechFB I wouldn’t. I personally would be happy to see Texas stand by their athletes struggling with addiction. I’m a Texas Tech fan but it isn’t my only identity or belief system. I have many friends who love UT. Lots of life that is more important than football.
@jj4hill@TechAthletics@TexasTechFB My man, if Texas Tech was removed from memory tomorrow. College football would keep going. CFB isn’t supported by a single schools actions. It’s survived much worse and is going to get some needed reform from this situation.
@FrankDomenicJr@TechAthletics@TexasTechFB Not what I said.
I care about the human. Even your hypothetical “geek”. I was trying to correlate what support would look like in your given analogy.
I don’t envy any of those leaders at that table for the path they have to navigate with national publicity and media full of hyperbole and misinformation. It’s a lot to navigate. I also don’t have all the information from his therapists or addiction professionals. No one in this chat does.
@onecrazytj@TechAthletics@TexasTechFB Congratulations on your 16 years of sobriety. That’s a massive milestone full of a lot of hard decisions that no one but God could see. I’m genuinely not trying to spin anything. These are my beliefs and they don’t conflict with my love for the Lord or you.
@FrankDomenicJr@TechAthletics@TexasTechFB Would I want a university to support a student through any addiction? Yes.
Do I think that “geek” would be playing on a University sports team or receiving this massive amount of national publicity? Not sure this analogy translates.
