The Pakistani military's strategy in Afghanistan—dominated by a Punjabi-centric establishment—mirrors the very logic applied to its own Pashtun, Baloch and most recently Kashmiri populations. This approach recalls the brutal spectacle of 19th-century Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who would famously turn Pashtun dissidents into mincemeat at the Khyber Pass as a weekly display of Punjabi Sikh power, intended to break the Pashtun independent spirit.
Yet neither Ranjit Singh, nor any other invader before or after, has ever truly succeeded in subduing the Afghans. The pattern persists, but the outcome never changes.
🇦🇫 NEW: Pakistani airstrikes have killed hundreds of Afghan civilians this year while Islamabad simultaneously presents itself as a peacemaker between Iran and the U.S., according to a new Drop Site News investigation.
🔸 On June 10, Pakistani drones and fighter jets struck villages in Afghanistan’s Khost and Paktika provinces, killing at least 14 civilians, including women and children, and wounding at least 10 others, according to local residents and medical staff interviewed by Drop Site.
🔸 Nine members of one family were killed when two neighboring homes were destroyed in Khost. In nearby Paktika, three children were killed while sleeping outside their home.
🔸 By April 1, the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan had verified at least 372 civilian deaths from Pakistani military operations this year. Drop Site reports the true toll is likely higher due to limited access for independent monitors.
🔸 Pakistan says the strikes were “precise and calibrated” operations against Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters. Residents interviewed by Drop Site denied the victims had any links to armed groups.
🔸 Pakistan’s campaign has expanded beyond airstrikes to include attacks on hospitals, schools, markets and roads, contributing to the displacement of border communities.

As if 4 years of threats, intimidation, arrests, killings was not enough, the Punjab government is now introducing a new law which can :
1. Freeze your bank account
2. Confiscate your property
3. Remove your online presence
4. Confiscate your phone
5. Put you under electronic surveillance
This must be the most authoritarian regime in our history.

@super_saiyanji Hazrat Hussain RA also was a mere mortal just as all humans have been.
Let us not defy him, he was a righteous Sahabi and Ahlul Bayt, but definitely mortal and not eternal.
In Islam the main focus of Ashura is to remember the liberation and exodus of Bani Israel from Egypt during Hazrat Musa (AS) time.
When the Shahadat (martyrdom) of Hazrat Hussain (RA) was added by a certain group to Ashura, it began to eclipse the original meaning.
@Malala@EU_Commission She won't speak for the rights of Palestinian, Lebanese, Iranian, Pakistani, Baloch, or Kashmiri women who are being massacred by either oppressive occupations or in the case of the last three, a brutal military regime in Pakistan.
For the last atleast 4 years Pakistan’s Military top brass has rigged multiple elections, killed multiple journalists, harassed 100’s if not thousands of women both sexually and morally by law enforcement agencies , threatened them with rape all across Pakistan just to shun voices of dissent. Put wives and female family members of political activists and politicians in jail to blackmail them, delivered a life sentence to Mahrang baloch in a sham trial by kangroo courts, put pregnant Iman Mazari a prominent human rights activist and her husband behind bars for literally a “tweet”. But Malala would never talk about that. I wonder why?
What are the great women of #pakistan doing about this? Come on sisters, rise up and rescue Bushra, we can't rely on the brothers anymore. They have long forgotten what happened in the city of Zibatrah (in modern-day Turkey) in 837 CE. A Roman soldier ripped off the hijab of a Muslim woman in a marketplace, leading her to cry out, "Wa Mu'tasimah!"—meaning "Oh, Mu'tasim, help!" Her plight reached the ears of Caliph Al-Mu'tasim Billah, who was the 8th Abbasid caliph. He vowed to send a massive army to rescue her and his Abbasid army conquered the Romans and the caliph personally saw to her liberation from prison. That was in the days when brothers feared Allah (swt) and would not allow any harm to come to our sisters. WTH has happened to our brothers in Pakistan that they do nothing for Bushra? Get off your backsides and remember who you are. Release Bushra now.
PAKISTAN: Reacting to the life sentences given by Quetta’s Anti-Terrorism court to Baloch activists Mahrang Baloch and Sibghat Ullah Shah Jee on 22 June, Amnesty International said:
“This verdict, which is an affront to the right to a fair trial, demonstrates how Pakistan’s anti-terrorism laws are being cynically misused to silence peaceful dissent. The conviction and sentence followed an expedited secret trial conducted on jail premises, during which serious concerns were raised over international fair trial standards and due process. No direct evidence was presented linking Mahrang and Shah Jee to the alleged violence.”

For decades, the people of Balochistan have demanded something very simple:
Dignity.
Justice.
And the right to be heard.
Dr. Mahrang Baloch has emerged as one of the most courageous voices advocating these fundamental rights through peaceful and democratic means. Whether one agrees with her politics or not, no society can progress by silencing peaceful dissent or criminalising demands for accountability.
History teaches us that sustainable stability cannot be built on fear. It is built on trust between the state and its citizens, on justice, and on respect for human rights.
The world must pay attention to the voices coming from Balochistan—not because they are asking for privilege, but because they are asking for rights that every human being deserves.
A strong state is not one that fears criticism.
A strong state is one that listens.

🚨Qatar has now emerged as the primary mediator in U.S.-Iran talks, Jeremy Scahill tells Breaking Points.
Pakistan “gets to put its signature” on the documents, but “it’s quite clear that Qatar is now in the prime position taking the lead on all of this.”
He also reports the U.S. is increasingly outsourcing key aspects of the negotiations to Qatar, Pakistan, and the IAEA instead of bringing its own technical experts into the room.

@Alyhassan959 Sunni Islam allows getting married in Muharram.
This must be a Shia concept, and therefore should not be imposed on non-Shias.
