ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬਾਦਲ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਆਪ ਮੈਡਮ ਪ੍ਰਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ (ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਬਾਦਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ) ਨੂੰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਮੁੱ�� ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੈਰੋਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਤੇ ਉਂਗਲ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ।

An invitation by my fellow environmentalist and younger brother Gangveer Singh Rathour to speak on the environmental impact surrounding Sri Darbar Sahib and our campaign @chalo_amritsar at a conference organised by Waaris Punjab De. The 450th Foundation Anniversary of Shri Amritsar Sahib falls in 2027.

My message was simple, but fundamental:

If our sacred spaces are not clean, and the areas surrounding them are neglected, then somewhere, we have failed in all respects not merely as governments, but as Punjabis.

I want to ask every political party in Punjab:

Without Darbar Sahib (the Golden Temple) would Amritsar hold the same relevance?

Darbar Sahib is what gives Amritsar much of its spiritual, cultural and global significance. Then why are we not speaking with urgency about the Bhagtanwala landfill, barely 1,500 metres from Darbar Sahib?

Why is the cleanliness and restoration of the historic walled city not a political priority?

Should the approach to one of the world’s most revered spiritual sites be lined with garbage?

And perhaps the most important question:

Is the environment even a serious part of the manifesto of any political party in Punjab?

Our sacred heritage cannot be separated from environmental responsibility. Reverence must reflect itself not only in prayer, but also in how we treat the land, water, air and public spaces around our sacred institutions.

I acknowledge those who have taken these issues seriously and consider it of utmost concern are Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargaj Ji, @Reena_Guptaa Bibi Kiranjot Kaur, Pargat Singh, Bikramjit Singh Majithia, Taranjit Singh Sandhu , Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatia and @GangveerR

This should not be a political issue.

It should be a question of our collective conscience.

If we truly call Amritsar sacred, then let us make its surroundings worthy of that sanctity.

Cleanliness is not cosmetic. Environmental stewardship is not optional. And protecting our sacred spaces is a responsibility we cannot outsource. Certain responsibilities need to be collectively addressed. Are we ready to take up this issue as a moral responsibility ? Or our we waiting for Divine Intervention ?

🚨This is not a hoax or made-up story. Serious concerns have been raised about the so-called Canadian Nihang leader Parshotam of a self-proclaimed Budha Dal Nihang group, which has little connection to the historical real Budha Dal Nihangs of the 18th century and instead promotes a pro-Hindutva identity.

Parshotam, along with Sher Singh, another self-proclaimed Nihang preacher accused of promoting Hindutva-influenced narratives, reportedly came to Canada under the pretext of religious preaching. During their time in Canada, they reportedly met N. Y. Rao, described as Key RSS-Hindutva proxy group leader in Canada , at a private dinner. When individuals presenting themselves as representatives of the Sikh tradition associate with Hindutva-linked networks, these relationships deserve public scrutiny.

There are also serious questions about Parshotam’s background and the establishment of his dera in Canada. He reportedly came to Canada as a visitor than became a truck driver, later obtained a work permit, and eventually established his dera, allegedly with financial assistance from Indian proxies and supporters within the Sikh community. There are also allegations that money was collected from the naive sangat in the name of establishing a gurdwara. The community deserves transparency about its source, control, and use.

Sher Singh has also continued spreading what critics describe as misinformation and Hindutva-influenced propaganda.

The bigger concern is the influence of such self-proclaimed Nihang groups on young Sikhs in the diaspora. Critics argue that they narrow Sikh youth’s understanding of Sikh political and historical thought, emphasizing rituals and a hallow spirituality while promoting a version of Sikhi mixed with Hindutva ideas.

There are further allegations that intoxicating substances, including cannabis and afeem, are being used or distributed in connection with some deras.
