I wish the world was more like a golf foursome.
You start as strangers.
You struggle together.
You encourage each other.
You laugh.
You tell stories.
You leave as friends.
@chadmumm I’ll correct this.
SD private golf courses suck.
SD public golf courses are awesome.
LA private golf courses are awesome.
LA public golf courses suck (other than rustic and Los verdes)
Russell Henley has earned $50 million playing a professional sport in the 21st century and could still go grocery shopping without being recognized by a soul anywhere in North America outside of a couple of small towns in Georgia.
As good as it gets.
Sooo another dad just asked me to play beach flag football Thursday night (I haven't ran or played a team sport in over 2 years lol).
I'm playing golf Friday morning.
DO I MAKE THE TEE TIME?

Casual golf fan… “Aaron Rai is leading the PGA Championship?? He can’t possibly win.”
Avid golf fan… “Don’t be so sure. He’s a closer.”
Casual golf fan… “How do you know that?”
Avid golf fan… “Here’s his wife…”
😱
If golf courses can learn anything from Augusta National, we shouldn’t play major championships at venues where the last 6 holes are the hardest holes.
Sprinkle in a couple hard holes, sure.
But it’s more exciting to watch the best players in the world make fireworks down the stretch, not see who can hang on.
I hope the #pgachampionship isnt gonna be like one of those TV shows that makes you watch all season long to see how it finishes and nothing good actually ever happens.
99% of you would say the #pgachampionship is your least fav major.
I’m going to tell you why and how I’d flip that.
Venue Rotation per major
(Last 25 years):
Masters → 1 venue
Open Championship → 9 venues
U.S. Open → 14 venues
PGA Championship → 18 venues
The more venues you rotate, the less interesting and memorable it is.
Id change every major (other than the masters obviously to a 5 course rotation):
The PGA Championship:
Whistling Straits
Kiawah Island Golf Resort
Chambers Bay
Medinah Country Club
Erin Hills
The US Open:
Pebble Beach Golf Links
Pinehurst Resort
Oakmont Country Club
Merion Golf Club
Shinnecock Hills Golf Club
The Open:
St Andrews Links
Royal Troon Golf Club
Royal Birkdale Golf Club
Carnoustie Golf Links
Royal Portrush Golf Club
Try and tell me this wouldn’t make major championship golf exponentially better (it’s already awesome) and elevate the PGA closer to the US Open and Open!
Playing as a single today with another single + two older guys.
I leave my 7-iron short of the green on a par 4. Short-sided myself. Open the face, hit this high soft pitch to 6 feet.
As I’m walking up, the other single starts laughing and goes:
“One of the old guys just asked me… ‘Did you learn anything from his shot?’”
And before I could even react he goes:
“Everything.”
😂
Crazy what happens when your short game goes from fear… to confidence.
@shortgamechef apparently turned me from tentative to accidentally giving clinics to my random playing partners.
Wild that Justin Rose is heading down this path again.
Justin Rose signed a multi-year deal with Honma Golf in January 2019 and parted ways with the company in May 2020, lasting just over 14 months. Rose struggled with form and ultimately terminated the partnership early.
-110 odds on him not playing McLaren Golf clubs at Augusta in 2027.
🚨🌹🏎️ JUST IN — Justin Rose has officially signed with McLaren Golf, becoming the first ambassador for the brand after working with the company on development for 2 years. Rose will play McLaren golf clubs and the partnership will begin this week in Miami.
