Have the base client be "WoW Solo Vanilla" and then a small fee to add each expansion as DLC. For anyone reading this, the idea would be that this does not require a subscription unless the player wants to be able to play with other real players, DLC is for justifiable revenue.

You could ALSO Have a pay feature that would allow a player to transfer their character to the retail client if they so want to, with everything they obtained, Their journey would be equally valid, just from a different timeline.
