1/ Thanks for all the love on the launch of Issue 5.1 some accident of love and nature. It is always a joy to imagine up a theme, and then to see what comes in, and from that, pull together an issue of The Pickled Body. Thank you to the writers who send us their work...
5/If Issue 5.1 is your first introduction, let this be an open door to something we have built over the past 6 years. Our issues have featured the works of many fine writers, and artists, in Ireland and beyond. For more, you can visit us here: https://t.co/NdNQxBRkdV
We were so delighted to work with @c_makris and @gorse_journal on the 'Form Ever Follows Function' exhibition earlier this year; with support from @19acres and @IlluminationsMU. A great space to explore and create work that straddled the digital-physical divide.
Another excellent issue.
It's about time The Pickled Body was more widely recognised as a pioneering journal operating in Ireland in its exploration of the spaces between the visual and the poetic, the digital and the physical.
A poem about Amrita Pritam's house in Hauz Khas (that was demolished) thinking of Waris Shah, Panjab, Faiz, a hazel blue & a poem archiving a July evening in Belfast. Here in the fine company of @RachelCoventry, @aoife_riach, @taniahershman, @AnneTannam, Rita Ann Higgins & more.
@taniahershman Our cover is fire! As is the rest of the work our featured artist has in the issue. Check out more of her work here: https://t.co/aHpwH75lN0. She's good. Real good. Like I said before, I love it when an artist gets it, and then throws it right back.
