Tonight is a rough night for the NDP.. losing official party status. @theJagmeetSingh has unfortunately lost his seat in Burnaby Central and is stepping down as party leader.

Some of the best leaders in Canadian politics have come from the NDP. From Tommy Douglas who instituted our healthcare system, Ed Broadbent, the late & great Jack Layton, and @ThomasMulcair.

Of course the NDP have been the party of labor, of the environment and the social safety nets, but more so all these leaders have shown tremendous integrity. Although I have disagreed much with them, I cannot argue with their character and that includes Mr. Singh. I wish him all the best.

Where does the NDP go from here? Does it have life left? Is it the right time to unite the left or is it as united as it will ever get?
